Public Sectional Semifinals

South Jersey Group 2

2-Rumson-Fair Haven 9, 3-Wall 6

Sophomore midfielder Kiel Forlenza scored three times - all in the third quarter - while senior midfielder Billy Garavente scored twice and Sean Bunnell made 10 saves to send the Bulldogs (13-9) back to the South Jersey Group 2 final.

Wyatt Feinberg and Patrick Jamin added a goal and an assist each, Rowan Goldin and Jack Whitelaw each scored once and Drew Shaw had two assists as Rumson pulled away from Wall (14-5) in the second half after holding a 4-3 halftime lead.

Rumson will try to repeat as sectional champions when it hosts eighth-seeded Somerville at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Will Forte and Connor Prindiville each scored twice to lead Wall. Mike McIntyre had one goal and one assist, Logan Peters had one goal and Sean DeMott made five saves.

 

South Jersey Group 1

1-Manasquan 8, 4-Bernards 4

Junior attackman Canyon Birch scored twice and junior attackman Ryan Anderson had a goal and two assists as the Warriors (19-2) held off the Mountaineers (12-5) to reach their third straight sectional final.

The Warriors also had a big game from their defense at both ends of the field. Junior defenseman Jack Fabean had a goal and an assist and junior LSM Mike Page had a dazzling goal to beat the second-quarter buzzer and give Manasquan a 5-1 halftime lead.  Midfielders James Pendergist and Riley Callahan and attackman Casey Mulligan added one goal apiece.

Bernards responded to cut Manasquan's lead to 5-4 entering the fourth quarter but the Warriors tacked on three more goals and thwarted the Mountaineers' offense over the final 12 minutes to reach the sectional title game.

Manasquan will host Madison in the South Jersey Group 1 final on Saturday at noon.

 

Non-Public A Quarterfinals

3-CBA 11, 6-St. Peter's Prep 7

Senior attackman Robbie Hermansen tallied two goals and two assists and junior attackman Connor Macrae and senior midfielder Luke Valentino each scored twice as the Colts (19-1) held off the Marauders to advance to the state semifinals for the first time since 2008.

Mike Carroll and Chris Junquet added one goal and one assist each while Dillon Quinn, Thomas Convery and Nick Robertson had one goal apiece. Chris Downey made four saves.

CBA's defense came through with a clutch man-down effort to allow only one goal on one shot during a three-minute, non-releasable penalty in the third quarter. Later in the quarter, Quinn, the Colts' LSM, intercepted a pass in the defensive zone and went end-to-end for a goal that put CBA up 9-7 entering the fourth quarter.

CBA will travel to West Orange to take on second-seeded Seton Hall Prep in the semifinals on Friday at 1 p.m.

 

Non-Public B Quarterfinals

2-Bishop Eustace 13, 10-St. Rose 5

The Purple Roses (9-11) fell to the Crusaders (15-2) to end their season but senior attackman Shane Reilly scored three times to set a school record with 141 career goals. Reilly also had one assist to give him 211 career points, which is second all-time at St. Rose behind Matt Frost's 214.

Mike Kinsel and Nolan Boehmcke each scored once, Spencer Flynn had two assists and Brendan Perry made seven saves.
