Cade Johnson scored the game-tying goal and Aniello Russo struck with the go-ahead goal as the Rams (5-1, 2-0) rallied with six unanswered goals to avoid the upset bid by the Mustangs (1-4, 0-1).
Brick Memorial led 5-1 at halftime before Southern scored once in the third quarter and five times in the fourth quarter all while pitching a shutout at the defensive end. Russo finished with a game-high three goals and two assists and Johnson, Nick Fontana, Ajani Steverson and Anthony Firmani each scored once. Luke Maul made seven saves in goal to earn the win.
Joey Ferrara and Dawson Heath each scored twice to lead Brick Memorial. Chris Marks scored once, Ian Thomas had three assists and Jake White nearly stole the game with 21 saves.
Brick at Toms River North, 5:15 p.m.
Holmdel 9, St. Rose 3
Justin Arredondo scored a game-high four goals and added one assist and Jake Preziose had a hat trick to power the Hornets (4-3) past the Purple Roses in a night game at Bog Roggy Field.
Justin Cohen and Alex Van Name each tallied one goal and one assist, Dan Tempone went 10-for-15 on face-offs and Nick Tuccillo made 11 saves.
Middletown North 15, Long Branch 0
Pete Abbes and Quinn Aker each registered hat tricks and Alec Zenker had two goals and four assists to lead the Lions (3-2) to a victory over the Green Wave (1-7).
Ryan Sheard added two goals and Evan Fuertes, Joe Blackwood, Christian Bracken and Brayden Gazzette each scored once. Jordan Farmer also scored once to record his first career goal.
Allentown 11, Lacey 8
Chris Augustine and Ryan Giles each scored three goals, Dominic Waltonowski had three assists and Justin Covey made 19 saves but the Redbirds (2-4) outscored the Lions 4-1 in the fourth quarter to take home the nonconference victory. Lacey drops to 3-2 on the season.
Old Bridge 10, Red Bank 9
