Seaview Orthopaedics Week 4 Player of the Week

Vin Coburn, Donovan Catholic

In order to stay in the hunt for a Shore Conference Class B South title, the Griffins needed to clean up last week and they did just that. Donovan Catholic handed Pinelands its first division loss, rallied to beat Lacey on the road with a winning basket in the final seconds, then capped the week fighting off Barnegat.

Coburn was right in the middle of the three victories, leading the scoring effort in two of the games. The senior guard lead a balanced attack with seven points in a low-scoring win over Pinelands and poured in 19 in the win over Barnegat to end the week.

Coburn also scored eight points in the come-from-behind win over Lacey, which ended on a go-ahead layup by junior Peter Farlekas with seven seconds left. Donovan Catholic entered the second half trailing by nine points before chipping away at the Lacey lead and, ultimately, overtaking the Lions.

Corburn won this week's contest with just under 30 percent of the vote, which was 10 percent better than runner-up Aiden Denton of Monmouth Regional. Rumson-Fair Haven senior Cal Famula (15 percent) and Christian Brothers Academy sophomore Peter Noble (14) also reached double-figure percentages in the Week 4 contest. As the fourth Player of the Week in 2021-22, Coburn will receive a $25 gift card to the Turning Point and a long-sleeve t-shirt courtesy of Seaview Orthopaedics.
