Between graduations, vacations and more it took us some time to catch up with the Shore Sports Network Athletes of the Month and present them with their specially engraved acrylic awards but as the saying goes better late than never.

I presented the Ocean County award to Jada Ellis of Manchester Township High School shortly after she achieved a much sought after goal of winning the 100 meters at the Meet of Champions.  As you can see we took the picture of her in front of a sign at the entrance to the football field/track complex that salutes Hawks Olympic champion Andew Valmon who ironically will be her coach when she reports to the University of Maryland later this summer.

Steve Meyer met up with Erin Picklo in Manalapan to present her with the Monmouth County Athlete of the Month award as she made a tremendous contribution both on and off the track to the Braves program.  Now she will look to do the same at The College of New Jersey with her goal to work with children on the autism spectrum when her education is complete.

A special thank you to Scott Ritche of Ocean Trophies in Lanoka Harbor who generously donates the AOM awards.
