Class A North

No. 13 Freehold Boro 0, No. 16 Middletown South 2 (25-7, 25-19)

The Eagles soared high with a two-set victory over Freehold Borough. Middletown South now moves to 3-1 on the season, with two wins inside the A-North. Karolyna Bojko tallied a team-high 10 assists for Midd. South as Cameron Kapler led with 8 digs for the Eagles.

No. 2 Colts Neck 0, No. 10 Marlboro 2 (25-22, 25-15)

Marlboro's strong start to the 2023 campaign continued as the Mustangs were victorious in two straight sets. Cece Marino led the way for Marlboro with 10 kills and 10 assists. Michelle Bukachevskiy had 7 assists while Jordan Chan contributed with 9 digs.

Class A South

Brick Memorial 0, Toms River East 2 (27-25, 25-16)

Toms River East rose back to .500 on the season after taking down divisional rival Brick Memorial in consecutive sets. Adrianna Cruz had a strong performance with 15 digs as Ava Casales had 11 assists in the victory.

No. 1 Southern 2, Jackson Memorial 0 (25-8, 25-8)

Four in a row out of the gate for Southern Regional, the number one team takes care of business within their division. Alexandra Santos and Sydney Savage combined for 15 digs in the loss for Jackson Memorial.

The Rams will face North Hunterdon and Williamstown on Saturday in a tri-match in-season tournament.

Class B North

No. 8 Red Bank Catholic 0, No. 4 St. John Vianney 2 (25-11, 25-10)

Freshman Ayana Warren continued her strong campaign for the Lady Lancers with a team-high 19 assists in the victory. In consecutive sets, St. John Vianney also had 20 kills, led by Stephanie Buttons' 8.

No. 6 Rumson-Fair Haven 0, No. 12 Wall 2 (25-13, 25-20)

Ava Grant garnered a team-high 19 assists while Molly Stopera led the way with 17 digs in a two-set victory for Wall. Wall will play No. 4 St. John Vianney at home on Friday.

No. 11 Raritan 2, Holmdel 0

Freshman Sophie Papagiannakis had a team-high 8 digs and 7 aces in Raritan's two-set defeat over Holmdel. Alexis Amoedo continued her strong start to 2023 with 9 assists for the Rockets.

 

Non Divisional

Trinity Hall 0, No. 2 Donovan Catholic 2 (25-10, 25-11)

Donovan Catholic extended their winning streak to four to begin the season. Daniella Tischio carried the Griffins with a team-high 11 assists, while Shantel Starling lead Donovan Catholic with 8 kills. The Griffins will be on the road tomorrow for a B-South showdown against No. 9 and undefeated Barnegat.

Toms River South 2, Point Beach 1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-14)

The Indians collected their first win of the year today over the Garnet Gulls, fighting in three sets. Sofia D'arcangelo led the team in digs for Toms River South while Payton Weed had 14 assists and 6 digs.

Red Bank Regional 1, St. Rose 2 (17-25, 25-20, 27-25)

St. Rose came away with their first win of the season over Red Bank Regional in three sets. After losing the first set and coming away with the second, St. Rose fought for the third, pulling away two passed 25. Melanie Englehardt led the Purple Roses with 11 kills while Ali Lubach had a season-high 22 assists.
