Week 3 featured some great individual performances on the ground, through the air and on defense.

Player of the Week nominees for Week 3 (listed in alphabetical order)

Canyon Birch, Sr., RB, Manasquan 

Birch ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and also returned a kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown in Manasquan’s 34-13 victory over Raritan.

 

Kavon Chambers, Jr., RB, St. John Vianney

Chambers ran for 200 yards and two touchdowns to help the Lancers defeat Middletown North, 37-20.

 

Jimmy Celentano, Sr., RB, Jackson Liberty 

Celentano ran for 222 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries as the Lions shut out Matawan, 21-0, to earn their first victory of the season.

 

Jermaine Corbett, Jr., RB, Long Branch

Corbett has been great so far this season and continued his productive ways by rushing for 180 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries in the Green Wave’s 33-0 win over Ocean.

 

Brian Ewan, Sr., LB, Barnegat

Ewan made 12 tackles with three tackles for loss and a pass breakup as the Bengals held Pinelands to 85 yards of offense (49 rushing) in a 31-0 victory.

 

Dean Gallo, Sr., RB, Holmdel

Gallo ran for 147 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries – an average of 12.3 yards per attempt – as the Hornets blanked Keansburg, 35-0.

 

Malik Ingram, Jr., RB, Mater Dei Prep

Ingram ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries as the Seraphs rallied from a one-point halftime deficit to defeat Shore, 36-8.

 

Jaden Key, Sr., WR, Red Bank Catholic 

Key had a career game with five catches for 129 yards and four touchdowns and also had a 50-yard run as the top-ranked Caseys rolled to a 42-7 win over Red Bank.

 

Jimmy Leblo, Sr., QB/DB, Brick

Leblo accounted for five touchdowns in the Dragon’s 34-15 win over Freehold with two touchdown passes, a touchdown run, a touchdown catch and a 37-yard interception return for a touchdown. He finished with 216 yards between passing, rushing and receiving.

 

Nico Santorelli, Jr., RB, Manalapan

Santorelli ran for 94 yards and three touchdowns on just six carries and also returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown as the Braves defeated Freehold Township, 49-22, to pick up their first win of the season.

 

Devin Wollner, Sr., RB, Keyport

Wollner ran for 200 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Red Raiders to a 33-6 win over Manchester.
