Basketball fans will remember Teddy Sourlis as an outstanding shooting guard at Rumson-Fair Haven.  Best known for his 3-point shooting ability, the 2018 graduate went on to play at Babson College where injuries and the pandemic greatly impacted his career.  However it was there during quarantine as a follow-up to a class project that he created MEN’S X MENTAL, INC.  Using his own experience with anxiety and depression and seeing increased levels during the pandemic, Teddy’s goal is to ensure that no one ever feels alone.

A non-profit (501c3) organization, MEN’S X MENTAL, INC. strives to break down the barriers and stigma surrounding the mental health of male athletes and all of their survivors.

They have created a clothing line and you’ll be hearing much more about them in the future.  For now you can learn more by visiting www.mensxmental.org.

If you are a high school basketball fan than Saturday you can see some of New Jersey’s top players take part in the Inaugural Men’s X Mental Showcase at The Fort Athletic Club in Oceanport.  Players from Roselle Catholic, Hudson Catholic, Newark Eastside, Red Bank Regional, Rumson, CBA, Jackson Memorial, Middletown North as well as Washington DC powerhouse DeMatha Catholic will take part with games beginning at 9am and going throughout the day.
