Middletown North 14, St. John Vianney 5

Senior Hayden Mattos delivered five goals and two assists, freshman Christian Balletto tallied five goals and one assist, and freshman Noah Flemming totaled three goals and three assists to power the Lions' offense in their season-opening victory over the Lancers (0-2, 0-1).

Junior Mario Lorenson had a huge game in goal with 23 saves while junior Graham Kennedy added a goal and an assist and junior Keaghan Gassler supplied two assists.

Senior midfielder Khush Mehta scored three goals and sophomore FOGO Max Menkowitz went 18-for-22 at the face-off X to lead St. John Vianney. Junior Brendan Allen had a goal and an assist, senior attackman William Keegan scored once, junior midfielder Matt Doherty had three assists, and senior midfielder Colin Bradley had two assists. Sophomore goalies Luciano Formica (7 saves) and Cameron Esposito (8) saves split time in goal.

Red Bank Catholic 20, Ocean 3

Senior attackman Peter Villare scored a career-high seven goals and sophomore midfielder Frank Tackett scored five goals and added three assists to lead the Caseys' (3-1) offensive onslaught in their victory over the Spartans (2-2).

Senior attackman Jackson Lu added a goal and four assists and freshman midfielder Joe Egan had a goal and three assists. Senior midfielder Brian Vecchio had two goals and one assist and won 18 of 20 face-offs and senior defenseman Connor Harms had two assists and 12 ground balls. Freshman attackman Thomas Muniz chipped in with a goal and an assist while freshman midfielder Jack Denver scored his first varsity goal and senior attackman Marcello Brocato and junior attackman Leo Cosimano each scored once. Senior goalie Gianvito Viola made five saves to earn the win and junior goalie Julian Littman also saw his first varsity action and made one save.

 

Barnegat 15, Toms River North 4

Sophomore Connor Maloney scored a career-high six goals and added one assist and sophomore Codey Shaffrey tallied two goals and four assists to lead the Bengals (2-1) to a victory over the Mariners (0-2).

Junior midfielder Antonio Frusco had three goals and one assist and won 11 of 16 face-offs and junior Jakob Jason had two goals, one assist, and 10 ground balls. Junior goalie Travis Wade made 11 saves and junior midfielder Bailey Carroll and junior Jamison Prince had a goal and an assist each.

Junior Robert Windgender scored twice and junior goalie Charlie Machamer made 16 saves to lead Toms River North.

 

Jackson Liberty 10, Colts Neck 9

Senior Paul Capozzi delivered a 10-point game with seven goals and three assists and also won 8 of 10 face-offs while senior goalie Matt LaBianca made 20 saves to lead the Lions (2-0) to a narrow victory over the Cougars (1-1).

Colts Neck led 4-1 at halftime.

Sophomore Jeff White scored two goals and dished out five assists and senior Joe Accordino scored once.

Junior Jayden Molina had three goals and one assist and senior Brent DeThomasis had two goals and two assists for Colts Neck. Senior Aaron Nasimov made 14 saves and junior Tyler Bowden and senior Luke Petino had two goals each.

 

CBA 12, Manalapan 1

Senior attackman Ryan Martin had three goals and two assists and senior midfielder Jack Santos had two goals and two assists as the Colts (3-1) shut down the Braves (1-1) in a non-divisional. matchup.

Freshman attackman Turner Cooke added two goals and one assist and freshman John Little went 11-for-11 on face-offs. Junior goalie Luke Phillips made seven saves in his first varsity action and senior Brandon Desena made three saves. Sophomore defenseman Sean Currie recorded his first varsity points with a goal and an assist and junior attackman Carter McGuire also had a goal and an assist. Junior goalie Junior Alvarado made nine saves and sophomore made one save in his first varsity action. Junior midfielder Nate Reiser added a goal and an assist and juniors Brenden Carfagno and Patrick Wicke each scored once.

Junior attackman Corey Smith and sophomore attackman Braedyn Goalanella each recorded two goals and two assists to lead Lacey. Junior goalie Nicholas Vetter made nine saves, freshman Luke Miller had a goal and an assist, and sophomore midfielder Jonathan Price scored once. Junior LSM Derek Hurley picked up 12 ground balls and dished out two assists.
