No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 68, Donovan Catholic 61

Senior Colin Cavanaugh scored 20 points and junior teammate Ryan Prior added 17 to help the Caseys (3-1) close out a road win over the Griffins (2-1).

Senior Tyler Burnham dropped in nine points and seniors Luke Iasparro and Pasquale Sabino each chipped in nine for Red Bank Catholic, which put the game away by outscoring Donovan Catholic, 19-13, in the fourth quarter. Prior scored nine of his points in the final quarter to help ice the game.

Senior Jack Malek led Donovan Catholic with a game-high 19 points, with junior Ryan Jacobs pitching in 17 and senior Za'ier Day contributed 11 in the loss.

Summit 56, Freehold Twp. 26

Matt Kaplan scored 19 points and David Fix put up 18 points and five assists as the Hilltoppers (4-1) won their fourth straight by handling the Patriots (3-1), snapping Freehold Township's winning streak to open the season.

No. 1 St. Rose 86, Rutgers Prep 70

Senior Matt Hodge authored a near-perfect game, scoring 38 points on 15-for-17 shooting from the field to lead the Purple Roses (4-1) to a road win over the Argonauts (3-1).

Hodge hit all seven of his three-point attempts and his only misses were a dunk attempt that rimmed out and a drive to the basket that was blocked. Hodge followed up the missed dunk with a tip-in to end the first quarter. He sat out the final five-plus minutes after taking a hard fall to the floor on a foul and also finished with eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocked shots.

The Purple Roses broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Rutgers Prep, 26-14, in the first eight minutes of the second half. That was also Hodges biggest scoring quarter, with the Villanova signee scoring 15 in the third on 6-for-6 shooting, including three three-pointers.

Sophomore Jayden Hodge chipped in 18 points and senior Gio Panzini posted 11 points and seven rebounds to help the St. Rose cause.
