Under the examing eye test, Ally Vella doesn't offer much of a hint to her rebounding prowess.

Never judge a book by it's cover. Packed inside the binding of her 5-7 frame, the Jackson Memorial senior guard harnesses an endlesss amount of hustle she is happy to unbridle. Vella has a certain luxury to pick and choose when to inject herself into the shooting rotation, the brunt of the offensive load aptly handled by Kristina Donza and Rachel Capua.

However, her assistance on the boards needs no invitation. She revealed just how much of an impact she can have under the glass on Jan. 17 when she complemented 10 points with a whopping 19 rebounds as the Jaguars upended Southern, 57-30.

For her work, Vella was voted the Shore Sports Network Girls Basketball Player of the Week, joining Donza, who earned the honor in Week 1, and will receive a $25 gift card to Surf Taco.
