Every week this season, Shore Conference lacrosse fans will have their chance to vote for the Shore Sports Network Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week on our website.

The Week 3 (April 15-April 21) winner is Shore Regional senior attackman/midfielder Jake Turner, who had a huge week with 16 goals and 10 assists in three games to help the Blue Devils remain undefeated. Turner and all Player of the week recipients this season will receive a $25 Surf Taco gift card.

Turner began his week by scoring five times in a 16-3 win over Point Boro to reach the 100-goal milestone. He also had four assists as the Blue Devils improved their record to 6-0.

In a 22-3 win over Barnegat, Turner recorded a game-high nine points on six goals and three assists.

Shore finished its week with its best win of the season, a 20-9 triumph over Ocean. Turner was once again a major contributor with five goals and three assists, giving him a whopping 26 points in three games.

Shore is in the midst of a great season with a 9-0 record. The Blue Devils are tied for first place in Class B South with Lacey and the two teams will square off on Saturday with the division title on the line. Turner has been outstanding with 35 goals and 22 assists for 57 points. He is well on his way to eclipsing the career highs of 40 goals, 24 assist and 64 points he set last season. Turner should also reach 200 career points in the next few games. He has 182 points through Thursday, April 25.

Turner won the Player of the Week poll with 34.09 percent of the votes, finishing ahead of Southern’s Ajani Steverson and Manasquan’s Mike LaPoint.
