Point Boro 34, Point Beach 32
Senior Dan Nobbs won by fall in 46 seconds at 126 pounds in the final bout of the match to compete the Panthers' comeback win over rival Point Beach.
Point Boro trailed 29-3 midway through the match, but won six of the final seven bouts, including five consecutive wins to give the Panthers a thrilling victory in front of a capacity crowd. Freshman Gabe Fattizzi picked up his first varsity win in earth-shaking fashion when he pinned Point Beach freshman Vincent Storino at 195 pounds to ignite Point Boro's comeback.
Dom Infante (Hwt) and Blake Dale (113) also won by fall for Point Boro, while Jack Erhardt picked up a key decision over Roddy Rupp at 132 pounds and Blake Sabo (major decision at 106) and Dylan Davies (120) delivered the mat to Nobbs with a chance for the walk-off win.
Point Beach built a 29-3 lead after seven bouts, fueled by falls at 160 and 170 pounds by Cory Gross and Jack Baker. John Finnerty (138) and Jake Fioretti (182) won by technical fall, Giancarlo Crivelli won by major decision at 145 and Matt Schaller (3-1 over Pete Gencarelli at 152) and Forrest Gardner (5-3 over Josh Vitale at 220) also won bouts for the Garnet Gulls.
