Class A Central

No. 3 Rumson-Fair Haven 78, No. 8 Raritan 40

Senior Scott Gyimesi scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Bulldogs (16-2, 9-1) slammed the Rockets (14-6, 5-5) for their 12th straight win, clinching a share of the Class A Central championship along with Red Bank Catholic.

Senior Geoff Schroeder added 16 points and classmate Trent Sloan added 14 for Rumson, which blew the game open by outscoring Raritan, 30-9, in the third quarter.

Senior Justin Rivera led Raritan with 14 points.

 

Class A South

Central 74, Toms River South 55

Senior Justin Soranno scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles (13-7, 8-4) to a win over the Indians (4-15, 1-11).

Junior John Truhan and sophomore Miles Chevalier each scored 15 points, with Truhan also dishing out three assists and Chevalier nabbing four steals. Senior Anthony Musso also poured in 10 points in the win.

Senior Gavin Migliori scored 11 points while senior Colin Raimann and sophomore Jarrod Johnson each scored 10 to lead Toms River South.

 

Class B South

Lacey 50, Barnegat 36

Junior Chris Venturoso scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Lions (8-12, 5-6) to a road win over the Bengals (4-18, 2-10).

Junior Troy Buxton added nine points and classmate Dylan Hall pitched in five points and 10 rebounds for Lacey.

Junior Shikeith Gordon led Barnegat with 14 points.

 

Class C North

St. Rose 58, Wall 37

Senior Colin Westhoven scored 16 points and the Purple Roses (10-9, 6-6) raced past the Crimson Knights (2-16, 0-12) to secure a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Senior Luke Farrell added 13 points and senior Chris Tallarico pitched in 10 for St. Rose.

Senior Chris Mitchell scored 15 points and junior Matt Eisenberg added 10 to lead Wall.

 

Non-Division

Holmdel 56, Red Bank 38

Sophomore James Vallillo scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds to help pace the Hornets (13-8) to a win over the Bucs (11-8).

Sophomore Nick Seeloch and freshman Evan Romano each added eight points, with Romano also handing out four assists.

Junior Nick Valentino led Holmdel with 18 points.

No. 7 Jackson Memorial 71, Jackson Liberty 50

Junior Charlie Meglio scored 19 points to lead five Jackson Memorial starters in double-figure scoring and the Jaguars (15-5) routed the rival Lions (13-8) to avenge last year's loss to Jackson Liberty.

Senior Steven Bado and juniors Respect Tyleek and Keith Adame all had 12 points apiece and junior Samir Padilla poured in 10 for Jackson Memorial.

Senior Dahkareo Pritchett led Jackson Liberty with 11 points.

Ocean 54, Long Branch 52

Freshman James Sobieski hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 20 seconds left and the Spartans (3-16) won a down-to-the-wire game over the Green Wave (1-18).

Freshman Ron Richardson led Ocean with 17 points and classmate Zayier Dean added 16 in the win.

Junior Bruce Gooding led Long Branch with a game-high 21 points and sophomore Devin Jones chipped in 18 in the loss.

No. 10 Manchester 71, Neptune 51

Senior D'Maari Brown scored 21 points and the Hawks (16-4) pulled away late to beat the Scarlet Fliers (4-13).

Senior Savon Myers added 18 points and junior Evan Weiner chipped in 14 for Manchester.

Senior Dan Moran scored a team-high 15 points and hit five of Neptune's 12 three-pointers in the game.

Brick Memorial 49, Brick 27

Senior Luke Braaten poured in 24 points to go with 19 rebounds and the Mustangs (16-4) rolled to a win over the rivals Green Dragons, knocking Brick (9-11) out of Shore Conference Tournament contention.

Junior Josh Michigan added 12 points and junior Jeremiah Crispin pitched in nine for Brick Memorial.

Senior Jack Dougard led Brick with 15 points.

 

Non-Conference

Monmouth 83, Academy Charter 33

The Falcons (10-10) routed Academy Charter (4-8) to clinch a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament for the first time since 2010.

Roselle Park 60, Henry Hudson 44

Freshman Jack Fitzpatrick scored 15 points and junior Jax Ross chipped in 12, but the Admirals (4-17) fell to the Panthers (5-11).

Edison 68, Middletown South 41

Niko Barnes scored 23 points and Edison (15-6) dominated the second and third quarters to run away from Middletown South (8-13).

Senior James Mayerhofer scored 10 points to lead Middletown South, which was outscored, 47-16, in the middle two quarters.

 

Hearts 2 Hands Showcase

At Roselle Catholic

No. 5 Manasquan 50, Union Catholic 48

Freshman Darius Adams scored 24 points and the Warriors (17-4) held off a fourth-quarter push by the Vikings (3-16) to pull out the win.

Senior Matt Solomon added 16 points and nine rebounds for Manasquan, which took an 11-point lead into the final quarter.
