Coming out of the bye week we wanted to keep the momentum going that we gained from our Homecoming win against Cornell.  We had another great challenge last Saturday playing against Sacred Heart University.  The game didn't go the way we had hoped and we came up short losing in a close battle, 24-21.

Monmouth University’s (4-5) football team outscored Sacred Heart (8-2) 14-0 in the second half but could not overcome a 17 point deficit at the break, ultimately falling 24-21 at Campus Field on Saturday.

Brandon Hill threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns and Kwabena Asante rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns as the Monmouth University football team defeated Cornell, 48-23, on Homecoming Saturday afternoon on Kessler Field at Monmouth Stadium. With the win, the Hawks improve to 4-4, while the Big Red falls to 1-4.

Coming into the 2013 season the team knew we had the most challenging season in Monmouth football history ahead of us.  Leaving the NEC and joining the Big South Conference presents great challenges and opportunity for the program.  Our first game of the year was against the Montana State Bobcats, the second-ranked team in the country...
