Sophomores Anthony Giamanco and Travis Soto each scored in the second half and the Lions rallied from a one-goal deficit at halftime to beat the Caseys. Giamanco also assisted Soto's goal.
No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven 5, No. 4 Wall 1
Junior Alec Pentikis scored a hat trick and classmate Antonio Santos scored the other two goals to lead the Bulldogs to a statement win over the Crimson Knights.
Pentikis and Santos each scored in the first 10 minutes, with Santos striking first within the first minute of the game on a free kick. Pentikis then ran down a punt by senior goalkeeper Aiden Colburn and finished it for a 2-0 lead in the 10th minute.
Pentikis scored again in the 48th off a pass from senior Harry Gibson to make it 3-0 and finished off the hat trick in the 72nd off a feed from Santos, making the score 4-1 after Wall got on the board with an own goal.
Santos capped the scoring in the 75th, with Pentikis assisting him.
No. 1 CBA 4, No. 2 Toms River North 2
Senior Dylan Cupo recorded his first career hat trick and the Colts scored four unanswered goals between two Toms River North tallies to beat the Mariners in a battle of the top two teams in the Shore Sports Network Top 10.
Cupo scored the game-tying goal by heading in a corner kick by senior Nick Bartlewitz in the 38th minute and scored out of a scrum in the box in the 55th to give CBA the 2-1 lead.
Senior Jack McGagh extended the CBA lead to 3-1 by heading in a free kick from junior Will Thygeson in the 59th and Cupo pushed CBA's lead to 4-1 with a rip from the top of the 18-yard box in the 60th to complete a stretch of three CBA goals in five minutes.
Toms River North went down fighting, with senior Jared Brown scoring in the 64th and the Mariners putting some heat on CBA over the final 15 minutes, including a shot that required a diving save from Colts senior goalkeeper Ryan Hayes.
The Mariners jumped on top in the 15th minute, with senior Will Buono sliding in for a finish on a cross from Brown.
