Class A North

Manalapan 64, Marlboro 59

Junior Anthony Leger scored 14 points, including eight during a fourth-quarter comeback the sparked the Braves to a win over the Mustangs.

Marlboro took a 49-44 lead into the fourth quarter before Manalapan closed the game by outscoring the Mustangs, 20-10, over the final eight minutes.

Senior Kassan Scott added 14 points, senior Dylan Sullivan had 12 and senior Jake Buchman pitched in 10 in the balanced Manalapan scoring attack.

Senior Alex Frank led Marlboro with a game-high 20 points, while senior Zach Mendes and junior Daniel Elmasri each poured in 10 in the loss.

 

Class C North

Neptune 42, Wall 37

Donnie Stevenson hit a tie-breaking three-pointer with just under a minute to go and the Scarlet Fliers fought off the Crimson Knights.

Senior Daniel Charles scored a team-high 12 points and knocked down a pair of free throws in the final seconds to seal the victory. Seniors C.J. Argilagos and Davionne Pearson each added 10 points for Neptune.

Senior Joe Tvrdik led Wall with 11 points.

 

Non-Conference

Point Boro 58, Bridgewater-Raritan 47

Senior Shane Ryan scored a game-high 18 points and the Panthers broke out on offense en route to a win over Bridgewater-Raritan.

Junior Jake Venturoso added 16 points -- 11 in the first half -- and he and Ryan combined to go 17-for-18 from the free-throw line, including 9-for-9 in the fourth quarter. Venturoso was 9-for-10 from the line and Ryan went 8-for-8, including 6-for-6 in the fourth.

Senior Stephen Mellett also chipped in 14 points for Point Boro, which won its first two games of the season despite scoring 37 and 30 points in the two games.
