Class A North

Manalapan 42, Long Branch 26

Senior Mike Cerreto scored a game-high 17 points and the Braves (6-7, 3-5) shut down the Green Wave (1-10, 0-6). Senior Nick Liegi added nine points for Manalapan.

Howell 57, Middletown South 50

Senior Joe Dupuis scored 21 points and the Rebels (8-4, 4-3) battled past the Eagles (4-9, 0-5) on the road.

Senior Dylan McVeigh added 15 points and senior Nick Gallo chipped in 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals for Howell.

Junior Dylan Csik scored 13 of his 14 points for Middletown South in the first half. Senior Tom Schork and junior Pat Brown each added 13 in the loss.

 

Class A Central

No. 1 Red Bank Catholic 58, Matawan 40

Seniors Alex Bauman and Cyril Arvanitis each scored 13 points and the Caseys (14-1, 7-0) took care of the Huskies (1-14, 0-7) on the road.

Sophomore Gioacchino Panzini also poured in 10 points and classmate Tyler Burnham chipped in nine points for Red Bank Catholic, which played without sophomore starter Zach Meeks (ankle).

Freshman Chauncy Brown led Matawan with 17 points.

Raritan 56, Shore 43

Senior Justin Rivera scored 14 points and the Rockets (8-3, 3-2) battled their way to a road win over the Blue Devils (6-7, 1-5).

Junior Jack O'Leary added 10 points and classmate Billy Tigar chipped in eight for Raritan.

Junior Richie Studer led Shore with 11 points, while sophomore Alex George pitched in 10 and junior Liam Gajewski contributed eight in the loss.

 

Class A South

Southern 42, Toms River East 35

Senior Nick Devane scored a game-high 16 points and the Rams (6-6, 4-4) outlasted the Raiders to avenge a loss to Toms River East (2-11, 1-5) earlier this month.

Senior Jaden Anthony added 10 points for Southern.

Junior Jacob Mathus led Toms River East with 10 points and junior Dylan Russell pitched in nine points, seven rebounds and four assists in the loss.

Toms River North 47, Central 38

Senior Lamir Mitchell scored 15 points and sophomore Jeremiah Pruitt added 10 as the Mariners (7-7, 3-3) came through with a win over the Golden Eagles (10-4, 5-2).

Senior Anthony Musso scored a game-high 16 points to lead Central, which played without two starters in junior Miles Chevalier (heel) and senior Gianni Smith (foot). Toms River North limited top Central scoring threat Justin Soranno to nine points.

 

Class B North

Colts Neck 46, Freehold Boro 36

Senior Will Surdez scored 18 points and the Cougars (5-7, 2-4) pulled away in the second half for a win over the Colonials (0-14, 0-6).

Sophomore Michael Belcher added 11 points for Colts Neck, which outscored Freehold, 25-14, in the second half.

Junior Mike Bisaha led Freehold Boro with 12 points and sophomore Will Hon added 10 in the loss.

Middletown North 66, Red Bank 62

Junior Mac Colantino led four players in double-figure scoring with 15 points and the short-handed Lions (7-5, 4-1) topped the Bucs (5-6, 2-2), who also continue to play without top returning scorer Patrick Murray (hamstring).

Senior Lucas Cerbo added 12 points for Middletown North and junior Zac Searight and senior Colin Devine each added 11 points while leading the rebounding effort. Searight grabbed 12 boards and handed out five assists, while Devin posted pulled in seven rebounds.

Middletown North secured the home win despite missing senior Tommy Giannone due to a non-COVID illness and with senior guard and leading scorer Matt Kenny scoring eight points to go with seven rebounds.

Junior Nick Valentino scored a game-high 26 points to lead Red Bank and senior Brian Tobin added 17 points in the loss.

No. 4 St. John Vianney 45, Neptune 25

Senior Nate Williams posted 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals to lead the Lancers (13-2, 6-0) to a win over the Scarlet Fliers (3-8, 2-3).

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 70, Keansburg 49

Senior Anthony Tencredi scored 20 points and the Seraphs (6-7, 6-2) rolled to a win over the Titans (4-7, 2-5).

Seniors Gerard Novello and Derek Ragona each added 12 points and senior Cal Lugay pitched in nine for Mater Dei Prep.

Senior Andrew Valle led Keansburg with 11 points while junior Mike Alonso and junior Jordan Bey each added 10 in the loss.

Keyport 79, Asbury Park 42

Senior D.J. Thomson led four players in double-figure scoring with 27 points and the Red Raiders (10-2, 7-1) rolled a win over the Blue Bishops (1-6, 1-6).

Senior Anthony Longo added 16 points, classmate George Mitchell scored 14 and junior Max Judson pitched in 10 for Keyport.

No. 7 Ranney 79, Point Beach 41

Junior Isaac Hester poured in 19 points to go with six rebounds and the Panthers (8-2, 5-0) coasted to a win over the Garnet Gulls (4-5, 2-3).

Junior Zack Davis added 18 points and eight rebounds while senior T.J. Braswell-Brown pitched in 15 points for Ranney.

Senior Kyle Simpson and junior Kevin Burns each scored 10 points to lead Ranney.

 

Non-Division

No. 6 Rumson-Fair Haven 81, St. Rose 44

Senior Owen Sullivan scored 15 points and seniors Scott Gyimesi and Geoff Schroeder added 12 apiece as the Bulldogs (8-2) rolled through the Purple Roses (4-7).

Gyimesi also grabbed 15 rebounds and Rumson drained 15 three-pointers as a team.
