Class A South

Central 53, Brick Memorial 45

Senior Justin Soranno put up 20 points and 10 rebounds and the Golden Eagles (8-2, 4-1) turned in a strong second half to top the Mustangs (5-3, 3-1) and create a crowd at the top of the Class A South standings.

Junior John Truhan added 14 points and five assists for Central, which outscored Brick Memorial, 32-20, in the second half.

Senior Luke Braaten led Brick Memorial with 20 points and classmate Jason Ellerbrock added 10 in the loss.

Toms River North 74, Toms River South 48

Junior Delani Hyde led three Toms River North players in double-figures and 11 Mariners scorers in all with 13 points as the Mariners (3-7, 1-3) rolled to a win over the Indians (3-5, 1-3).

Sophomore Jeremiah Pruitt added 12 points, senior Lamir Mitchell scored 11 and sophomore Micah Ford netted nine for Toms River North.

Senior Gavin Migliori led Toms River South with 14 points, junior Easton Slack scored 11 points and senior Colin Raimann added nine in the loss.

 

Class B South

No. 8 Manchester 67, Lakewood 24

Senior Savon Myers racked up 30 points, 21 rebounds and six blocks while fellow senior D'Maari Brown threw together 18 points, 11 assists and seven steals as the Hawks (7-2, 4-0) cruised to a win over the Piners (0-5, 0-3). Sophomore Josh Love also contributed nine points and five steals for Manchester.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 66, Keansburg 51

Senior Anthony Tancredi led four Mater Dei players in double-figure scoring with 14 points and the Seraphs (3-6, 3-2) rolled to a win over the Titans (1-5, 0-3).

Seniors Derek Ragona and Jayden Cabrera each added 12 points and sophomore Zacai Manigo chipped in 10 for Mater Dei.

 

Class C North

Point Boro 42, St. Rose 40

Junior Stephen Mellett and Shane Ryan each scored 13 points and the Panthers (8-1, 4-1) edged the Purple Roses (3-4, 2-2) for their eighth win in nine games to start the season.

Both Mellett and Ryan combined for all 12 of Point Boro's points in the fourth quarter, during which the Panthers outscored St. Rose, 12-10, to break a tie heading into the fourth quarter.

Senior Kai Messeroll also netted eight points for Point Boro.

Senior Luke Farrell led St. Rose with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while senior Colin Westhoven added 10 and seniors Nick DiNatale and Chris Tallarico each chipped in eight in the loss.

Jackson Liberty 56, Wall 41

Senior Phanique Dupree scored 20 points and classmate Dahkareo Pritchett pitched in 12 to spark the Lions (6-3, 1-3) to a win over the Crimson Knights (0-8, 0-5).

Junior Matt Eisenberg led Wall with 10 points and seniors Chris Mitchell and Ryan Molloy each added nine in the loss.

 

Non-Division

Shore 61, Toms River East 49

Junior Brett Sweeney scored a game-high 24 points and the Blue Devils (5-4) handled the Raiders (2-8) on the road.

Sophomore Alex George also poured in 19 points for Shore.

Junior Dylan Russell led Toms River East with 14 points and classmate Greg Mazzo chipped in 13 in the loss.

No. 5 St. John Vianney 77, Freehold Twp. 57

Senior Nate Williams went off for 24 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while sophomore Dylan Seay put up 21 points and eight rebounds to help lead the Lancers (11-2) to a convincing win over the Patriots (6-4).

Senior Omar Calderon also chipped in 10 points for St. John Vianney and junior Kyle Verriest contributed nine points and nine assists in the winning effort.

No. 2 Red Bank Catholic 59, No. 1 CBA 47

Sophomore Zach Meeks scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead a balanced offensive attack as the Caseys (11-1) knocked off the Colts (10-1) to win the Founder's Cup, hand CBA its first loss and set themselves up for the No. 1 ranking in the next Shore Sports Network Top 10.

Senior C.J. Ruoff added 12 points and three assists after missing most of the first quarter with a bloody nose caused by a shot to the face, while senior Alex Bauman pitched in eight points, 11 rebounds and five assists for Red Bank Catholic, which opened the game with a 14-4 run and closed it with an 18-10 fourth quarter.

The Caseys again got a lift from their bench, with freshman Ryan Prior, senior Alex Brown and sophomore Tyler Burnham all coming up with big stretched. Brown came in for Ruoff within the first minutes and hit a three-pointer to go with his pestering defense, Burnham scored four points and blocked a shot in three minutes at the end of the first quarter, and Prior hit two big three-pointers, assisted a layup by Brown and came up with a steal during the fourth.

Sophomore Peter Noble led CBA with 15 points and junior Will Bradley added 11 for CBA.

 

Non-Conference

Manville 55, Henry Hudson 24

Junior Luke Jaccodine scored a team-high 13 points as the Admirals (1-6) fell to the Mustangs (4-3) with top scorers Demitrius Harvey and Jax Ross unavailable to play.

Middletown South 53, Union City 45

Junior Dylan Csik scored 14 points and Matt Silva added eight points, six rebounds and four steals to help the Eagles (3-6) battle past the Soaring Eagles (2-4).

Southern 46, Millville 43

Senior Jaden Anthony scored 23 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out four assists and picked off three steals to carry the Rams (5-4) to a quality road win over the Thunderbolts (7-2).

Senior Nick Devane added nine points and classmate Nolan Schubiger pitched in seven points and four assists for Southern.

Phillipsburg 66, Freehold Boro 37

Sophomore Christian DiGiso scored a team-high eight points as the Colonials (0-11) failed to keep up with the Stateliners (3-6).
