(6) St. John Vianney 69, (3) Manasquan 60

Senior Nate Williams continued his spectacular start to the season by scoring 34 points, handing out four assists and picking off five steals in leading the Lancers (5-0) to a win over the Warriors (2-2) -- St. John Vianney's first win over Manasquan in nearly 15 years.

Williams drained three of his five three-pointers in the third quarter and hit his fifth of the game early in the fourth to extend the Lancer lead to 50-45 after Manasquan took a 30-26 edge into the half.

Williams scored 21 of his points in the second half while sophomore Dylan Seay scored eight of his 10 points -- including a pair of three-pointers -- in the fourth quarter to close out the win. Junior Connor Howard also scored all eight of his points in the red-hot second half for St. John Vianney, during which the Lancers hit eight of their 11 three-pointers in the game.

Freshman Griffin Linstra led Manasquan with 18 points, while sophomore Ryan Frauenheim chipped in 17 in the loss. Sophomore Alex Konov also threw in 13 points for Manasquan, which last dropped a game to St. John Vianney on Jan. 22, 2007.

(2) Red Bank Catholic 47, (10) Jackson Memorial 34

Sophomore Gioacchino Panzini scored 11 of his game-high 16 points in the second half to help the Caseys (4-0) pull away with a win over the Jaguars (3-1).

Senior Alex Bauman made his season-debut for Red Bank Catholic after sitting the team's first three games with a muscle strain and was one of three Caseys players (senior Alex Brown and sophomore Tyler Burnham the other two) to score six points.

Junior Keith Adame scored 14 points to lead Jackson Memorial, which outscored RBC, 15-8, in the second quarter to draw within 21-19 at halftime.

Red Bank Catholic will square off with No. 6 St. John Vianney in the WOBM semifinals on Wednesday, while Jackson Memorial draws No. 3 Manasquan in one of the consolation games.

(5) Manchester 59, (13) Donovan Catholic 41

Senior D'Maari Brown scored a game-high 19 points and the Hawks (3-0) handled the Griffins (3-2) to reach the WOBM Classic semifinals on Wednesday.

Senior Jordan Dupont added 12 points and junior Evan Weiner poured in 10 for Manchester, which stormed out to a 34-17 halftime lead behind a 12-point half from Brown. Senior Savon Myers also pitched in nine points in the win.

Senior Dylan Orosz led Donovan Catholic with 15 points while senior Kyree Drake chipped in nine in defeat.

(1) Marlboro 83, (9) Brick Memorial 54

Senior Jack Seidler scored 26 points and the Mustangs (4-0) coasted to a win over Brick Memorial (2-1) to reach the WOBM semifinals Wednesday against No. 5 Manchester.

Senior Jon Spatola poured in 18 points and senior Zach Molod chipped in 15 for Marlboro.

Junior Josh Michigan led Brick Memorial with 16 points and senior Luke Braaten contributed 13 in the loss.

(4) Middletown North 59, (5) Long Branch 39

Senior Tommy Giannone scored 21 points and blocked four shots in his season debut and the Lions (1-1) rolled through the Green Wave (0-4) and into the Buc Classic semifinals.

Senior Matt Kenny poured in 16 points and senior Zach Searight chipped in seven points, 12 rebounds and three blocks for Middletown North.

Senior Christian Rodriguez led Long Branch with 14 points and sophomore Devin Jones added 11 in the loss.

(1) Ranney 70, (8) Sayreville 39

Senior T.J. Braswell-Brown scored 18 points and dished out five assists to lead the Panthers (2-0) to a win over the Bombers (0-2) in the Buc first round.

Juniors Isaac Hester and Zack Davis each added 10 points for Ranney, which will play No. 4 Middletown North on Tuesday in the semifinal round.

(3) CBA 50, (6) Red Bank 43

Senior Pat Lautato scored 13 points and the Colts (3-0) shot 11-for-13 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to ward off an upset bid from the Bucs (1-3).

Sophomore Peter Noble added 11 points, while juniors Will Bradley and Joe White each chipped in eight, with White sinking 5-of-6 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter.

Junior Collin Teter led Red Bank with 10 points.

(2) Rumson-Fair Haven 63, (7) Lacey 47

Senior Scott Gyimesi scored 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to spark the Bulldogs (3-0) to a first-round win over the Lions (1-3), setting up a Thursday semifinal showdown against No. 3 CBA.

Junior Chris Venturoso led Lacey with 18 points and nine rebounds.

 

Neptune Holiday Jubilee

At Neptune

Semifinals

St. Rose 57, Neptune 47 (OT)

Senior Luke Farrell missed three free throws with one second left in regulation -- any of which could have won the game -- but then bounced back with six points in overtime to help the Purple Roses (2-1) complete a furious comeback against the Scarlet Fliers (0-3).

Farrell and classmate Nick DiNatale each scored nine points during the fourth quarter and overtime to help St. Rose outscore Neptune, 26-4, during that same stretch, which eliminate a 43-31 deficit heading into the fourth quarter. Neptune did not convert a field goal during the final 12 minutes, with all four points coming on the foul line.

Farrell finished with a game-high 22 points and DiNatale netted 15 to lead St. Rose, while senior Colin Westhoven scored five of his nine points during the fourth-quarter comeback.

St. Rose advances to face Payne Tech in the championship game on Thursday at 11:45 a.m., with Neptune taking on Allentown at 10 a.m. in the third-place game. Four teams (Lincoln, St. Joseph of Metuchen, Ewing and Colonia) withdrew from the tournament prior to Monday.

(5) Manalapan 77, (4) Old Bridge 67

Senior Gabe Blackwell scored a career-high 33 points and the Braves (1-2) stormed past the Knights (1-3) and into the Husky Classic semifinals Tuesday against top-seeded Seton Hall Prep.

Senior Mike Bimonte added 13 points and senior Nick Liegi chipped in 10 for Manalapan.

Sophomore James Vallillo scored 25 points and the Holmdel Hornets (2-1) topped the Hamilton Hornets (1-2) to advance in the Husky Classic.

Vallillo led four Holmdel underclassmen with at least nine points. Sophomore Nick Seeloch poured in 17 points, freshman Evan Romano netted 10 and sophomore Ben Kipnis chipped in nine.

Holmdel's next Husky Classic challenge will come Tuesday against No. 2 Union.

(4) Howell 59, (5) Middle Twp. 49

Senior Dylan McVeigh scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half and junior Damien Padilla and senior Abdull Al-Shrouf gave Howell a lift off the bench as the Rebels (3-0) raced past the previously-unbeaten Panthers (3-1).

Padilla put up 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while Al-Shrouf contributed 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Howell, which played without injured senior starter Zach Emery.

Howell's next test in the SATS will come in Tuesday's semifinal against top-seeded Lenape.

(3) Southern 61, (6) Mainland 45

Senior Nick Devane poured in 20 points while adding eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks to lead the Rams (2-1) to a win over the Mustangs(1-3).

Senior Josh Smith led three other Southern players in double-figure scoring with 12 points. Junior Max DiPietro added 11 points, five rebounds and three assists while senior Jaden Anthony turned in 10 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

Atlantic Tech 48, Barnegat 41

Senior JoJo Bivins scored 14 points and sophomore Jamari Smith added 10 but the Bengals (1-3) came up seven points shy in a loss to ACIT (2-1).
