Class A North

No. 3 CBA 61, No. 9 Marlboro 53

Junior Kevin Pikiell scored a game-high 22 points and the Colts outlasted the Mustangs for a key divisional win on the road.

Junior Justin Fuerbacher and sophomore Connor Andree each added 12 points for CBA and senior Peter Noble chipped in eight in the victory -- the eighth in a row for the Colts.

Senior Steve Scimone scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead Marlboro. Senior Brave Haugh added 12 points and classmate Dan Elmasri threw in 10 in the loss.

 

Class B North

No. 8 Red Bank 72, Middletown North 67

Junior Zayier Dean scored 20 points, including the 1,000th of his high school career, as the Bucs fought off a challenge from the Lions.

Senior Braydon Kirkpatrick added 17 points for Red Bank, which saw a 14-point halftime lead shrink to four by the end of the third quarter.

Sophomore Eddie Lopez put up a game-high 29 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks to lead Middletown North. Junior Colin Byrne went for 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while senior teammate Jason Quardt chipped in 14 points and seven assists in the loss.

 

North Crossover

Freehold Twp. 73, No. 16 Middletown South 69 (OT)

Senior Andrew Silverman scored a game-high 21 points and the Patriots survived a huge second-half comeback to escape with an overtime road win over the Eagles.

Freshman John O'Neill added 15 points and senior Brandon Norero threw in 12 for Freehold Township, which led by 19 points early in the third quarter and gave up the lead in the final minute of the fourth.

Junior Brady Hahn scored 15 of his team-high 20 points after halftime and sophomore Matt Trimble scored 11 of his 14 in the second half to lead the Middletown South rally. Senior Carmine DeCrescenzo added 13 points and senior Will Nugent chipped in 12 in the loss.

No. 15 Howell 58, No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 53

Senior D.J. Orloff scored 18 points and sophomore Cayden Parker chipped in 16 as the Rebels unleashed a key 10-0 run during the final three minutes to erase a six-point deficit and knock off the Caseys on the road.

Senior Chris Meehan added eight points for Howell, which turned a 46-40 deficit into a 50-46 lead late in the fourth quarter and held on.

 

Class A South

Southern 63, No. 10 Toms River North 55

Sophomore Jake Sliwinski pumped in a game-high 28 points and the Rams topped the Mariners to take a crucial Class A South division showdown.

Freshman Noah Perna added 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while senior teammate Caden Schubiger pitched in 10 points and four assists for Southern.

Sophomore Bryce Kazanowsky led Toms River North with 16 points off the bench, while seniors Owen Baker and Tareq Council each added 11 in the loss.

 

Class B South

No. 7 Central 56, Pinelands 33

Senior Miles Chevalier scored 18 points to go with three steals and the Golden Eagles secured a road win over the Wildcats.

Senior Jordan Barboy added 13 points and junior Jaycen Santucci chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for Central.

Junior Ty Kline led Pinelands with 11 points and senior Gerald Newsome pitched in nine in the loss.

 

Class A Coastal

No. 4 Holmdel 54, No. 13 Freehold Boro 50

Senior James Vallillo led a balanced attack with 14 points and the Hornets held off a fourth-quarter push by the Colonials to pick up a critical division win on the road.

Sophomore Jack Vallillo contributed 12 points on four three-pointers, senior Ben Kipnis poured in 10 and senior Nick Seeloch netted nine for Holmdel.

Junior Qua'Mir Everett led Freehold Boro with 19 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Juniors Brian Tassey and Aidan Hamlin-Woolfolk each added nine points, with Tassey also contributing six rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks.

St. John Vianney 51, Long Branch 49 (2 OT)

Senior Dylan Costa hit a game-tying three-pointer to force the first overtime and the Lancers pulled out a double-overtime battle against the Green Wave.

Senior Deon Jackson posted 12 points and 11 rebounds for St. John Vianney, which played without senior forward Emanuel Domingo (ankle).

Senior Peter Da Cruz led Long Branch with 26 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and seven blocks.

 

Class B Coastal

Wall 40, Neptune 34

Sophomore Liam Killea scored 12 points and classmate Dan Hennessy added 10 as the Crimson Knights won a defensive struggle over the Scarlet Fliers.

Junior Jayden Mytthill scored nine points on three three-pointers to lead Neptune.

No. 1 St. Rose 63, No. 2 Manasquan 44

Senior Gio Panzini scored 14 of his game-high 17 points in the first half and the Purple Roses rode a red-hot start to a road win over the Warriors in a 1-vs.-2 showdown at the Shore.

Panzini scored 10 points in the first quarter and St. Rose raced out to a 27-7 lead by the middle of the second quarter. Panzini threw down a dunk to extend the lead to 33-10, which was the largest of the game for St. Rose.

Manasquan scored the final four points of the half and the first six of third quarter to claw to within 33-20, but senior Matt Hodge hit a baseline jumper to stop the Manasquan run and ignite a 11-2 St. Rose burst that put the Purple Roses back up, 44-22.

Sophomore Jayden Hodge finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, five steals and two blocked shots, while Matt Hodge posted 11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks for St. Rose.

Junior Griffin Linstra led Manasquan with 16 points and freshman Rey Weinseimer added 11 in the loss.

 

Coastal Crossover

Ranney 79, Raritan 50

Junior Josh Engel scored a career-high 18 points to go with senior Drew Buck's 19 points, eight assists and three steals as the Panthers got back on track with a win over the Rockets.

Freshman Brody Mauro added 13 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, while sophomore Shaan Nayar pitched in 10 points and five assists for Ranney.

Sophomore Cam Gabloff scored 17 points and dished out three assists, while junior Sean Burnett put up eight points, six rebounds and four assists to lead Raritan.

 

Non-Division

Brick 58, Lakewood 39

Sophomore Mike Sullivan and freshman Sean Nausedas each scored 13 points and Sullivan added 16 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Green Dragons to a road win over the Piners.

Senior Jayden Johnson chipped in nine points, four assists and three steals for Brick.

Junior Rahmel Anderson led Lakewood with 16 points and senior Alex Colon added 11 in the loss.

No. 11 Manalapan 82, Lacey 45

Freshman Joe Farino poured in 22 points and senior Anthony Leger netted 19 to lead the Braves in a rout of the Lions.

Senior Tristan Ulrich added 17 points on five three-pointers and junior Aiden Sosinov chipped in 13 points for Manalapan.

Junior Jon Stabile led Lacey with 11 points and six rebounds and freshman Derek Roth posted 10 points and five assists in the loss.

Barnegat 49, Ocean 47

Senior Jamari Smith scored a game-high 26 points to carry the Bengals to a road win over the Spartans.

Senior Keith Allen led Ocean with 25 points and sophomore Aidan Saint Louis pitched in 13 in the loss.

Manchester 53, Jackson Liberty 37

Junior M.J. Goins scored a team-high 15 points while also adding four steals as the Hawks pulled away for a win over the Lions.

Junior Aidan Lunn and senior Tre Ross each added 13 points, with Lunn also putting up 11 rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots for Manchester.

Toms River South 56, Monmouth 53

Senior Kai Barckley scored 20 points and classmate Rob Peirson added 18 as the Indians edged the Falcons on the road.

Sophomore Ahmir Wiggins led Monmouth with 25 points and seven rebounds.

 

Non-Conference

Henry Hudson 70, Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter 30

Junior Jack Fitzpatrick scored a game-high 24 points and the Admirals coasted to a win over Thomas Edison Charter.

Freshman JoJo Newell added 12 points and junior Kevin Pharo contributed 10 for Henry Hudson.
