Class A North
Freehold Twp. 69, Howell 58
Junior Jayden Holmes-Cotter scored a game-high 24 points to go with 14 rebounds and two blocks to help the Patriots (9-6, 5-3) rally from a nine-point halftime deficit and close out the Rebels (8-5, 4-4) with a near-perfect fourth quarter at the foul line.
Senior Josh Ibarreta added 13 points, senior Sean Keegan poured in 12 and senior Ryan Keegan posted 11 points, 7 rebounds and six assists for Freehold Township, which outscored Howell, 45-25, in the second half and shot 10-for-11 as a team during the fourth quarter. For the game, Freehold Township was 25-for-32 (78 percent) from the line.
Senior Zach Emery scored 16 points and classmate Dylan McVeigh added 12 to lead Howell.
Manalapan 56, No. 2 CBA 53
Senior Mike Bimonte drove for a tie-breaking three-point play with 30 seconds left and the Braves (7-7, 4-5) held on to shock the Colts (12-3, 7-2).
Bimonte finished with a game-high 23 points and classmate Mike Cerreto poured in 21 to lead Manalapan, which played its second straight game without senior forward and top interior scoring option Gabe Blackwell.
Senior Pat Lautato led CBA with 15 points and freshman Justin Fuerbacher chipped in 13 in the loss.
No. 3 Marlboro 58, Middletown South 52
Seniors Jack Seidler, Zach Molod and Jonathan Spatola combined for all but five of Marlboro's points and the Mustangs (13-2, 7-1) held off a rally by the Eagles (4-10, 0-6).
Seidler scored nine of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter and went 7-for-8 from the foul line down the stretch to seal up the win.
Molod scored 14 of his 17 points in the first quarter to stake Marlboro to a 22-9 lead on Middletown South, which chopped the lead to 33-29 by halftime. Spatola also finished with 17 points.
Junior Dylan Csik scored 11 of his team-high 18 points in Middletown South's big second quarter and senior James Mayerhofer scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter for the Eagles.
Class A Central
No. 1 Red Bank Catholic 66, Raritan 39
Senior Alex Bauman scored 18 points to go with 14 rebounds and the Caseys (15-1, 8-0) shook off a slow start to roll over the Rockets (9-4, 3-3).
Sophomore Gioacchino Panzini added 10 points, senior Cyril Arvanitis hit three three-pointers for nine points and freshman Ryan Prior chipped in eight points off the bench.
Senior Justin Rivera scored 10 points to lead Raritan, which led Red Bank Catholic 13-8 after one quarter before RBC rumbled to a 25-17 halftime lead.
Class B North
Middletown North 58, Colts Neck 34
Senior Matt Kenny scored 15 points and the Lions (8-5, 5-1) handled the Cougars (6-8, 2-5) while playing without senior Tommy Giannone (illness) for a second straight game.
Senior Lucas Cerbo added 12 points and junior Zac Searight chipped in 10 points and six rebounds for Middletown North.
Junior Will Surdez led Colts Neck with a game-high 18 points.
Class B Central
No. 7 Ranney 73, Henry Hudson 25
Senior T.J. Braswell-Brown scored 14 points to lead 12 different Ranney scorers in a Panthers (10-2, 6-0) win over the Admirals (2-11, 0-7).
Junior Isaac Hester and freshman MeSean Williams each added 11 points and junior Zack Davis chipped in 10 for Ranney.
Junior Jax Ross led Henry Hudson with 10 points.
Class B South
Lacey 72, Lakewood 45
Junior Chris Venturoso scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Lions (6-8, 3-4) to a win over the Piners (0-9, 0-7).
Junior Troy Buxton added 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals and junior Dylan Hall contributed 10 points, five rebounds, eight assists and four steals for Lacey.
Class C North
Monmouth 58, Ocean 42
Junior Ta'haj Wiggins returned from a five-game injury hiatus to put up 15 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks while leading the Falcons (7-7, 5-4) to a win over the Spartans (2-11, 2-6).
Senior Brandon Ligon also poured in 15 points for Monmouth while senior Gerald Wiggins added 11 in the win.
Freshman Ron Richardson led Ocean with 13 points, five points and four assists.
Non-Division
Barnegat 53, Toms River South 45
Junior Shikeith Gordon hit a game-tying three-pointer with two seconds left in regulation and the Bengals (4-11) completed a come-from-behind win over the Indians (4-10) in overtime.
Gordon finished with 10 points and senior Logan Kreudl scored 13 to lead Barnegat, which overcame a 35-22 third-quarter deficit to pick up the overtime win at home.
Senior Gavin Migliori led Toms River South with a game-high 19 points.
