Shore Conference Announces New Football Division Alignment for 2024 Season
Major changes are coming to the Shore Conference's football divisions for the 2024 season.
The new divisions, announced Friday by the Shore Conference, aim to strike a balance between competition, school size, and geography with the divisions having a regionalized alignment. The patriotic division names have also been eschewed with the divisions returning to their old names, such as Class A North, etc.
There will still be seven divisions but one of them will have seven teams with New Egypt joining the conference for the 2024-2025 school year. The new divisions are Class A North, Class A South, Class B North, Class B South, Class C North, Class C South, and Class D North.
The American Division teams of 2023 - Red Bank Catholic, Donovan Catholic, Toms River North, Rumson-Fair Haven, Middletown South, and Wall - have been split between three new divisions. RBC, Rumson, and Middletown South now reside in Class A North while Donovan Catholic and Toms River North head to a Class A South division with mostly Ocean County teams. Five of those six teams finished the season ranked in the top six of the final Shore Sports Network Shore 16. Wall was the only American Division team to finish unranked and with a losing record. The Crimson Knights are aligned in Class C North.
