No. 16 Long Branch 2, No. 14 Rumson-Fair Haven 1 (OT)
Senior Wyatt Vicente ripped a cross off a Rumson defender and into the goal during the eighth minute of overtime and the Green Wave (5-2-1) rallied for a thrilling win over the Bulldogs (5-2-1).
Senior Chris Garcia Lopez scored the tying goal in the 79th minute off a pass from junior Anthony Hernandez, then played a key role in the winning sequence. Garcia Lopez settled a long pass from the back and slipped the ball through to Vicente running up the left flank.
With plenty of space to send a cross, Vicente -- who is the cousin of Rumson-Fair Haven head coach Jeff Soares -- hammered a solid cross to the near post that a Rumson defender knocked inside the post while trying to clear it away.
