Class A North

Marlboro 1, Manalapan 0

Ryan Cohen scored off a feed from Trevor Barrett in the first half and the Mustangs (3-2-1, 2-2-0) held on to top the Braves (2-3, 1-3).

CBA 3, Middletown North 0

Dylan Millevoi scored 11 minutes into the match off a pass from fellow senior Dimitry Corba and later helped capped the scoring by assisting a goal by Lawrence Mancino in the 43rd as the Colts (5-1, 3-0) topped the Lions (3-2, 2-1) in a rematch of the 2022 Shore Conference Tournament semifinals.

Three minutes after Millevoi gave CBA the lead, John Gambale scored the second of three goals by seniors by making it 2-0 in the 14th minute.

Howell 2, Freehold Twp. 1 (OT)

Kam Brown struck for the golden goal 3:40 into extra time off a feed from Tye Maser and the Rebels (3-1-1, 3-1-0) upended the Patriots (2-4, 0-3) by rallying from a one-goal halftime deficit.

Howell tied it up midway in the second half when Bryce Ocholla collected a pass from Nick Turturro before slamming in the finish.

Gino Castaneda staked Freehold Township to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the eighth minute.

Class A Central

Rumson-Fair Haven 2, Red Bank 0

Luke D'Angelo scored eight minutes into the match and Owen Saad added an insurance goal with a sparkling individual effort as the Bulldogs (4-1-1, 4-0-0) downed the Bucs (2-5, 1-3) in the 2023 installment of the Ridge Road Rivalry.

D'Angelo finished off a combination with Bobby Quaglia to get Rumson on the board and Saad added a second Bulldogs scored with a rip from outside the 18-yard box after beating a pair of defenders.

Holmdel 4, Monmouth 0

Frankie Brusco scored two goals and Younis Kamel and Joe Kang each contributed one as the unbeaten Hornets (4-0-1, 3-0-0) coasted to a win over the Falcons (1-4, 0-3).

Raritan 3, Wall 1

Stefan Cojocariu set up Raritan's first goal, the scored two in the final 12 minutes to lead the Rockets (1-5, 0-3) over the Crimson Knights (3-4, 1-2) for their first win of the season.

Cojocariu broke a 1-1 deadlock with the game-winner in the 68th minute and put the game away in the 79th, when he buried a 25-yard direct kick.

Eoin Davis gave Raritan a 1-0 lead in the 15th off a corner kick by Cojocariu.

 

Class A South

Brick Memorial 0, Central 0

Justin Perrin turned in a pristine game in goal for Brick Memorial as the Mustangs (0-4-2, 0-2-2) withstood 100 minutes against the Golden Eagles (5-0-1, 3-0-1) to break up Central's perfect start to the season.

Toms River North 2, Jackson Memorial 0

Christian Caso assisted a goal by Anthony Ruggiero in the first half and scored one off a feed from James Homyak in the second to spark the Mariners (5-1, 3-1) to a win over the Jaguars (1-4-1, 1-3-0).

Toms River East 1, Toms River South 1

Toms River South's Shane Gambarony scored off a cross from Kenny Caruso to even the score in the second half and the Indians (2-1-1, 1-1-1) wiped out a one-goal halftime deficit to salvage a tie vs. the Raiders (1-2-2, 1-2-1).

Sean Peck got Toms River East on the board first with a goal in the first half.

 

Class B North

Long Branch 1, Matawan 0 (OT)

Johan Gomez buried the golden goal with 45 seconds left in the second overtime session off a pass from Chris Lopez and the Green Wave (4-2-1, 2-1-0) pulled out a win over the Huskies (3-2, 2-1).

Ocean 3, Neptune 1

Freshman Connor Shaw scored one of the three Ocean goals and the Spartans (3-2-1, 2-2-0) stopped the Scarlet Fliers (. Jacob Gomez and Marc Gleason scored the other two goals for Ocean (0-5, 0-3).

Colts Neck 7, Freehold Boro 0

Freshman Sean Moore went off for four goals -- including a first-half  hat trick -- and the Cougars (3-1, 2-0) coasted to a win over the Colonials (1-4, 0-3).

Jonah Chiang added his second goal of the season, while C.J. Collins and Nick Sergio each scored their first varsity goals for the Cougars.

Class B Central

Asbury Park 3, Henry Hudson 2

Dain Salazar scored the golden goal in the 14th minute of overtime and the Blue Bishops (1-4, 1-2) battled past the Admirals (1-5, 1-3) for their first win of the season.

Dylan Gonzalez scored two goals for Henry Hudson, both of which gave the Admirals a lead -- one in the 12th minute and the next in the 51st.

Asbury Park answered both Henry Hudson goals, with Gustabo Lazo-Garcia tying the game at 1-1 off a pass from Salazar in the 26th minute. Hermsley Louisius finished off a pass from Jalens Phillipe in the 65th to level the score at 2-2.

Ranney 1, Point Beach 1

Saeed Torres scored the second-half equalizer for Ranney in the second half and the Panthers (1-4-1, 1-2-1) salvaged a draw against the Garnet Gulls (4-2-1, 3-0-1) after falling behind in the first half.

Ronan Lynch scored off a feed from Dylan Ryan to open the scoring for Point Beach.

Keyport 2, Red Bank Catholic 1

Brayan Rodriguez scored a goal and assisted one by John Covert to lead the Red Raiders (1-5, 1-3) to a win over the Caseys (0-5, 0-3).

St. John Vianney 1, St. Rose 1

The Purple Roses (4-1-2, 3-0-1) and the Lancers (4-0-1, 3-0-1) traded goals in the first half and settled for a draw in a key Class B Central showdown.

St. Rose jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, with Matt Dayton heading in a long ball into the box from Jack Kane.

St. John Vianney struck back in the 30th, with Will Keegan settling a cross from Alex Cardenas and buried it to the far right corner of the goal.

 

Class B South

Lakewood 5, Brick 3

Javaughn Johnson scored a hat trick and Jaheim Kennedy chipped in two goals and an assist to carry the Piners (1-2-1, 1-1-1) to a high-scoring win over the Green Dragons (1-4-1, 0-4-0).

Chris Pedraza also pitched in with three assists for Lakewood.

Lacey 5, Manchester 0

Senior Jason Velez contributed to each of Lacey's first two goals and sophomore Tanner Grozinski broke the game open with a goal and two assists in the second half as the Lions (4-3, 3-1) handled the Hawks (4-3, 3-1) for their fourth straight win.

Velez assisted the ninth goal of the season by Matteo Pasqualichio to open the scoring in the 11th minute and added a goal of his own on a direct kick in the 18th.

Brady Noon scored off a cross from Grozinski in the first minute of the second half and Chase Demay knocked in a rebound in the 45th after an initial shot by Grozinski.

Grozinski capped the in the 60th minute and freshman goalkeeper Dylan Graham finished off his third straight shutout.

Point Boro 2, Pinelands 0

Ben Fritz and Drew Cardia each scored a goal and the Panthers (4-1-1, 3-0-1) blanked the Wildcats (3-4, 1-3) with a goal in each half.

Fritz broke a scoreless tie in the 37th minute off an assist from Owen Clearwaters. Cardia added an insurance tally in the 68th off a set-up from Chase Norling.

 

Non-Division

Manasquan 2, Shore 0

Cristian Gonzalez and Jorge Cruz Cruz each scored a goal and the Warriors (5-0) turned back the Blue Devils (3-3) to continue a perfect start to the season.

Gonzalez drilled a 25-yard strike off a flick from Griffin Linstra in the 14th minute to open the scoring.

In the 35th, Manasquan goalkeeper Dylan Morris made kick save on a breakaway chance for Shore's Cooper Attaway, preserving the 1-0 Warriors lead.

Cruz Cruz capped the scoring by knocking in a cross from Cruz Farkas in the 70th minute after Farkas beat a defender around the corner.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 20

Class B South

Donovan Catholic 2, Barnegat 0

Sophomore Max Durazzo scored in the 22nd minute and assisted a goal by classmate Charlie Yuro 12 minutes later as the Griffins (2-3, 2-1) blanked the Bengals (2-4, 1-3) for their second straight win following a 0-3 start to the season.
