Group 1
Pinelands 4, Neptune 1
Dan Eberlin scored a pair of goals and the Wildcats (4-4) topped the Scarlet Fliers (0-6) for their first win in SCT group play.
Matt Sarfo and Max Taurgrasso each added a goal, while Lance Heuston and Dan DeMillio each chipped in assists.
Sebastian Canaverde scored Neptune's lone goal.
Group 3
St. Rose 6, No. 6 Manasquan 0
Senior Matt Alexis scored off a pass from Matt Dayton for the lone goal of the first half and the Purple Roses (5-1-2) exploded for five goals in the second to hammer the Warriors (5-2) and moved to the brink of securing a spot in the SCT knockout round.
Jack Tiernan scored the first of his two second-half goals in the 44th minute off a pass from Isaiah Taylor to extend the lead to 2-0, followed by goals from Taylor and Aidan Bonczek to break it open.
Tiernan scored off a punt from goalkeeper Jack Harmon to extend the lead to 5-0 and Gavin Fahy capped the scoring.
Group 5
Wall 2, St. John Vianney 1
Bo Pepe scored the equalizer in the 53rd minute and Jake Petillo delivered the game-winner in the 63rd as the Crimson Knights (4-4) rallied to top the Lancers (4-2-1) and move closer to SCT knockout round qualification.
Wall would clinch a spot in the 22-team SCT field with a Manalapan win or draw vs. St. John Vianney in group play.
Mason Boles converted a penalty kick for a 1-0 St. John Vianney lead in the 39th minute.
Group 10
No. 7 Middletown North 3, Point Beach 1
Tommy Valinotti scored a goal and assisted another by sophomore Paulie Que as the Lions (5-2) topped the Garnet Gulls (4-3-1) to clinch a spot in the SCT knockout round.
Travis Soto scored the second Middletown North goal after Valinotti opened the scoring off a feed from Josiah Stepney.
Group 11
Red Bank 2, Point Boro 0
Senior Brady Walsh scored a little more than two minutes into the match and classmate Sean Chenery added another five minutes later to spark the Bucs (3-5) to a critical win over the Panthers (4-2-1) to finish the group stage.
Walsh converted a pass from Carlos Guerra in the third minute and sophomore Alex Salvo found Chenery for his goal in the eighth.
Red Bank goalkeeper Colin Williams saved eight shots to secure the clean sheet, including a point-blank save in the 77th minute to keep Point Boro off the board.
