Senior John Gambale ripped a shot off the post and in during the 55th minute and the Colts dug in a held off the Falcons to advance to the sectional semifinals on their home field Friday against No. 4 St. Augustine.

(2) St. Peter’s Prep 1, (7) St. John Vianney 0

Matt Sobreiro converted a penalty kick in the 76th minute and the Crusaders dodged an upset bid by the Lancers to reach Friday's sectional semifinal vs. No. 3 Pingry.

St. John Vianney played with 10 men during the final 20 minutes after junior defender Dylan Smith was sent off with his second yellow card of the match.

South Jersey Non-Public B

(3) St. Rose 5, (6) Ranney 0

Senior Matt Alexis scored and assisted a goal in the final five minutes of the first half and classmate Andrew Restiano scored or assisted on all three of St. Rose's second-half goals as the Purple Roses rolled past the Panthers and into Friday's sectional semifinal round against No. 10 Princeton Day.

Alexis won a header 35 yards from the Ranney goal and senior Diego Nieves chipped a shot over charging Ranney goalkeeper Joe Celler to break open the scoring in the 35th minute.

A little under two minutes later, Alexis header in a near-post service from Carlos Ramos on a free kick to give St. Rose a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Restiano broke the game open when he took a pass from Ramos, sidestepped a pair of defenders, and rifled a 16-yard shot inside the near upper 90 in the 47th minute. Restiano added a second goal in the 72nd minute and set up the closing goal by Vladik Aguirre in the 76th.
