No. 3 Freehold Twp. 4, Freehold Boro 1

Senior Noah Jones scored two goals and the Patriots (3-1, 1-1) stormed past the crosstown-rival Colonials (0-4, 0-2) to pick up their third straight win.

Senior Cameron Jacobson and sophomore Michael Gorman each added a goal for Freehold Township.

Junior Ammar Danish scored the Freehold Boro goal off a pass from senior Colin Wozniak.

No. 1 CBA 5, Middletown South 0

Senior Will Thygeson scored two goals and assisted another as the Colts (2-1, 1-1) buried the Eagles (2-2, 1-1) for their first Class A North win in 2022.

Senior Joe Earle and juniors Dylan Millevoi and Lawrence Mancino each added a goal and senior Jack D'Eletto chipped in two assists for CBA.

Middletown North 1, Marlboro 0

Senior C.J. Crolius scored the lone goal of the game in the 29th minute off a corner kick by freshman Cameron DelGrosso and helped lead a defensive performance that paced the Lions (3-1, 1-1) to a shutout win over the Mustangs (2-1, 2-1).

Howell 3, Manalapan 0

Sophomore Nick Turturro nailed a bicycle kick in the first half and senior Nick Spisak added two goals in the second half to carry the Rebels (4-0, 2-0) past the Braves (2-2, 1-2) for their fourth straight win to open the season.

Turturro lined up a throw-in by senior R.J. Eckelman and drove it out of the air for Howell's first goal in the 18th minute. Spisak struck in the 65th minute and again in the 75th minute.

 

Class A Central

No. 5 Holmdel 7, Red Bank Catholic 0

Sophomore Stephan Kapranov scored two goals to make it eight in the last three games and the Hornets (4-0, 2-0) coasted to a win over the Caseys (0-4, 0-2).

Juniors David Weiner, senior Max Woodward, junior Frank Brusco and sophomore Kieran Hynes each added a goal for Holmdel in the first half to send the Hornets to the break with a 6-0 lead.

Charles Petruzzi capped the scoring with a goal in the second half.

No. 10 Wall 2, Raritan 0

Junior Jake Petillo broke a scoreless deadlock with a goal in the first minute of the second half off a pass from senior Patrick Southwell and the Crimson Knights (1-2, 1-0) added on in the final 10 minutes to secure a win over the Rockets (1-2, 1-1).

Junior Nick Damiano tacked on an insurance goal in the 71st minute off a feed from senior Matt Armenti.

Monmouth 1, Shore 0

Sophomore Sean Wisk scored the game's lone goal off a pass from freshman Luca Tvrdik and the Falcons (1-2, 0-1) topped the Blue Devils (2-2, 0-2) to give Charlie Seelinger his first win as head coach.

 

Class B North

No. 6 Ocean 2, No. 4 Long Branch 0

Junior Alexander Korolev broke a scoreless deadlock with a goal in the 50th minute and senior Archeley Eugene added another in the 69th to seal a payback win for the Spartans (2-1, 2-0) over the Green Wave (1-1, 0-1), which ended Ocean's season in the 2021 NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III semifinals.

Eugene assisted Korolev's goal by getting his head on a throw-in by senior Dan Abrams, with Korolev getting his toe on the ball for the finish and a 1-0 Ocean lead.

Ocean added an insurance goal off a long punt by senior goalkeeper Zach Frabizio that both Eugene and fellow senior Jake Schwartz ran down. After a keeper misplay -- which happened after Long Branch starter Chris Lazo left with an injury -- both Ocean forwards raced after the ball and Eugene got there first for the finish and a two-goal lead.

No. 7 Neptune 3, Red Bank 0

Senior Ernst Louisius scored a goal and assisted another to lead the Scarlet Fliers (2-1, 1-1) over the Bucs (0-2, 0-2). Christian Gerencser and Lee Petrowski each added a goal and Kervins Lafortune assisted a goal for Neptune.

Colts Neck 5, Matawan 0

Senior Jairo Chira scored the first two of three Colts Neck goals in span of under two minutes and the Cougars (2-0, 2-0) blitzed the Huskies (1-2, 1-1) with five goals in the first half.

Chira converted a penalty kick 5:32 into the match and scored again off a feed from Kyle Moore 49 seconds later. Just 57 seconds later, sophomore Sam Gershon earned a penalty kick and cashed in for a 3-0 Colts Neck lead.

Nick Mavica headed in a corner kick by Ryan Gershon in the 18th minute and Danielson Chinchilla one-timed a cross from Moore in the 25th minute for the fifth Colts Neck goal

No. 9 Manasquan 3, St. John Vianney 1

Senior Aidan Sugure scored the first of his team's three goals in the first half and the Warriors (2-1, 1-0) finished off the Lancers (1-3, 0-2).

Sugrue chipped in a shot off a pass from junior Luke Roy in the 14th and 12 minutes later, sophomore Griffin Linstra made it 2-0 by settling a corner kick from senior D'Arcy McGill and driving it home.

Sophomore Christian Gonzalez drilled a 20-yard shot off a pass from freshman Cruz Farkas in the 31st to extend the lead to 3-1.

St. John Vianney got on the board in the 65th on an own goal.
