Monmouth University Hawks Preparing For Spring Football

There will be spring football in the Big South Conference and defending champion Monmouth University has begun practicing for their March 13^th opener at Robert Morris.  The Hawks are among 5 of the 8 teams in the conference who have opted in for a 4-game regular season and they are the favorites to win the Big South and earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Playoffs.

Monmouth returns 17 of 22 starters from the 2019 team that went 11-3 and won a playoff game for the first time in program history.  Among the returners is offensive tackle Justin Szuba who is one of several Hawks named to the Preseason All-Big South team.  The Brick Memorial graduate shared his thoughts on finally getting back on the field, balancing athletics with academics and more.
