Mike Gesicki is among the greatest athletes in Shore Conference history, earning 12 varsity letters in football, basketball and volleyball at Southern Regional where he set numerous school records.  After weighing dozens of scholarship offers in multiple sports he chose Penn State for football and graduated as the most productive tight end in Nittany Lions history…as well as a three-time member of the Big Ten All-Academic team.  Just over two months ago Gesicki was the 42nd overall player selected in the NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins and he recently signed a four-year contract.  After rookie camp, OTA’s and minicamp he’s back home in Manahawkin but only for a couple more weeks as Dolphins rookies report for training camp on July 18.

Gesicki sat down with me in a familiar setting, Ron Emmert Field at Goldberger Memorial Stadium to talk about the path that has led to his dream coming true and what lies ahead.
