Sectional quarterfinals

 

South Group IV

1-Southern 14, 8-Eastern 5

Junior attackman Dylan Jinks sank four goals and handed out two assists, and junior midfielder Shawn McManus had three goals and four assists to lead the Rams (18-2) past the Vikings (6-13) and into the semifinals. Brendan Mullen, Chris Smith and Nick Simonelli each tallied twice for Southern, while Brendan Lefanto made 15 saves to earn the win.

The Rams will host fifth-seeded Old Bridge on Thursday in the semifinals.

 

South Group III

1-Shawnee 17, 8-Jackson Memorial 2

 

4-Princeton 12, 5-Lacey 9

The Little Tigers (16-3) used a 4-1 run in the third quarter to take the lead and hold on to defeat the Lions (13-5) in the quarterfinals. Joe Long led Lacey with four goals and Dan Cannon had three assists. Kyle Fisher made 10 saves. The game was tied 5-5 at halftime.

 

South Group II

4-Hopewell Valley 11, 5-Wall 4

Kyle Critchlow scored all four goals for Wall, while P.J. Brown, Liam Ferg and Kyle McDonough had assists. Hopewell Valley (16-4) used an 8-2 second-half run to pull away and advance to the semifinals. Hunter Kaplan made 11 saves for Wall (11-5).

 

2-Somerville 14, 10-Ocean 4

Erik Rant scored twice and Bobby Graziano made 17 saves for the Spartans (7-10) in their loss to the Pioneers (13-4), the No. 17 ranked team in New Jersey.

 

South Group I

1-Rumson-Fair Haven 10, 8-Haddonfield 2

Robbie Garavante fired in three goals along with two assists, and Dominic Padula also scored three times to lead the defending champion Bulldogs (16-3) into the sectional semifinals. Matt Waters added a pair of goals and Chris Hubler finished with a goal and one assist. Henry Sillen contributed two assists and Bryce Metzger made five saves.

Rumson will host fourth-seeded New Providence on Thursday in the semifinals.

 

3-Middle Township 14, 6-Manasquan 6

The Panthers (16-3) broke open a one-goal game at halftime by outscoring the Warriors (11-6) 8-1 in the second half. Blaine Birch and Jarrett Birch each scored twice for Manasquan, with Tom Pollack making seven saves.

 

Non-Public A

5-CBA 10, 12-Notre Dame 7

The Colts (14-3) topped the Irish (8-9) to advance to the quarterfinals versus fourth-seeded St. Augustine Prep.

 

4-St. Augustine Prep 17, 13-St. John Vianney 2

Christian Byer and Ryan Gilfillan scored and D.J. Soriano made 9 saves for the Lancer (10-7). Dean DiSimone and Joe Eisele each scored three times for the Hermits (16-5), who will host CBA in the quarterfinals.

 

 

Non-Public B

6-Montclair Kimberley Academy 15, 11-St. Rose 2

Matt Frost and Scott Dimmit had goals and Dean Mazur made 13 saves in the loss for the Purple Roses (7-8). MKA improved to 12-8.
