Honoring The Shore's True Sportsmen

The Shore Sports Network is proud to partner with the Shore Conference of High School in presenting the 2020 Sportsmanship Awards, powered by Jersey Pride Insurance Agency. Organized and administered by the athletic directors from the 48 high schools in the Shore Conference, this annual program salutes a female and male senior from each school who best represent the ideals of good sportsmanship while displaying a strong work ethic, exemplary leadership skills and respect for their teammates and opponents.

In years past, the honorees would be saluted at an awards breakfast at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena in Toms River but due to the pandemic that was not possible. Despite that, the athletic directors remained committed to saluting these outstanding student-athletes with each to receive a sweatshirt in addition to being featured in a special issue of the Shore Sports Network Journal. The 60-page program will be available beginning this week at 31 Super Wawa locations in Monmouth and Ocean counties as well as many Jersey Mike’s Subs and Surf Taco locations in the Shore area.

The athletic directors have also announced they will award $500 scholarships to eight of the 94 sportsmanship award winners through a random drawing that will be done live on the Shore Sports Network Facebook page on Friday, June 5 at 11:30 a.m.
