Week 4

1. Red Bank Catholic (10-2) Previous Rank: 2 - RBC became the first team since the 2019-2020 season to dethrone SJV from their top spot. The Caseys did not beat SJV but have played the most consistent basketball in the Shore and were close to knocking off the No. 1 team in New Jersey last Sunday. RBC travels to Manalapan on Tuesday and hosts No. 5 Trinity Hall on Thursday. Saturday they play Williamstown in the South Jersey vs Shore Showcase at Rancocas Valley.

2. Manasquan (11-2) Previous Rank: 3 - The Warriors had a shot at the top spot in the Shore after they handed No. 1 SJV their first Shore Conference loss since 03/05/2019. Manasquan controlled the entire game and won 46-40 behind Hope Masonius’s 21 points. Unfortunately the Warriors fell to No. 10 Red Bank Regional at the Coaches vs Cancer Showcase 42-41 to miss out on No. 1. Manasquan will host Raritan on Tuesday and No. 7 Wall on Thursday. Saturday they play Lenape in the South Jersey vs Shore Showcase at Rancocas Valley.

3. St. John Vianney (8-4) Previous Rank: 1 - When was the last time SJV lost back-to-back games or four in a season? The Lady Lancers rebounded from Sunday’s defeat to Blair by defeating No. 12 Holmdel, but followed that with defeats to No. 3 Manasquan and Msgr. Scanlan (NY). SJV will look to get back on track when they travel to No. 14 Neptune and No. 12 Ranney this week.

4. Ocean Township (10-2) Previous Rank: 4 - Ocean defeated two teams last week in non-divisional games. Senior Eli Clark continues to lead the Spartans, averaging 21.5 points a game last week. Ocean plays two divisional games this week, hosting Lakewood and traveling to Monmouth Regional on Thursday. Saturday they play Wildwood Catholic in the South Jersey vs Shore Showcase at Rancocas Valley.

5. Trinity Hall (8-4) Previous Rank: 6  - The Monarchs started the week winning back-to-back games by four points against No. 11 Ranney and Colts Neck. Trinity Hall ended the week defeating Mount St. Mary in the Coaches vs Cancer Showcase at Donovan Catholic. Senior Nina Emnace scored 29 points to become the all-time leading scorer in the school’s history with 1,229 points and counting. Trinity Hall hosts Middletown North on Tuesday and travels to No. 1 Red Bank Catholic on Thursday. Saturday the Monarchs play Bayonne on the road.

6. Red Bank Regional (6-4) Previous Rank: 10 - After dropping two consecutive games to fall in the rankings, RBR had one of their biggest wins in school’s history defeating No. 3 Manasquan 42-41. The Bucs played spoiler to the Warriors, preventing them from earning the top spot in the Shore 16. RBR travels to Freehold Township on Friday and hosts Secaucus in the Hoops for Hope Showcase. 

7. Wall (11-2) Previous Rank: 7 - Wall rebounded after falling to No. 4 Ocean, winning four straight games last week. The Lady Knights opened the week defeating No. 11 Ranney 50-42. Shayne Eldridge and Emily Tvridk both reached the 1,000 point milestone last week in wins against Pinelands and Matawan. Wall ended the week defeating Hightstown in the Coaches vs Cancer Showcase. Wall travels to No. 13 Holmdel on Tuesday and No. 2 Manasquan on Thursday.

8. St. Rose (9-4) Previous Rank: 5 - St. Rose opened up the week winning their first two games, but lost to the new No. 1 Red Bank Catholic on Saturday. St. Rose had six players score 6 points or more against Long Branch to open the week. Against No. 12 Holmdel, St. Rose converted 12 3-pointers with Cassidy Kruesi hitting five of them for 19 points. St. Rose travels to No. 12 Ranney on Tuesday and hosts Matawan on Thursday. Saturday they play the No. 1 team in New Jersey, Morris Catholic, in the More Than A Highlight Showcase.

9. Howell (9-2) Previous Rank: 9 - Howell extended their win streak to six games last week, defeating rival Freehold Township and WOBM winner Central Regional. The Rebels ended the week defeating Middletown North. Shore Conference Week 3 Player of the Week Kiera McKown has had a double-double in four straight games. Howell travels to Marlboro on Tuesday and Colts Neck on Friday.

10. Rumson-Fair Haven (7-3) Previous Rank: 8  - Rumson started the week defeating No. 10 Red Bank Regional in overtime after trailing by 11 at halftime. Rumson lost to West Orange, who is ranked in the top 20 in NJ, at the Coaches Choice USA College Showcase. Rumson hosts Freehold Township on Tuesday and Middletown North on Friday. Sunday Rumson plays Mainland, who is ranked in the top 20, at the Hoops for Hope Showcase at Red Bank Regional. 

11. Manchester (7-4) Previous Rank: 13 - Manchester had a historic week, not only defeating two Shore 16 opponents, but Devyn Quigley eclipsed the 2,000 point milestone and became the all-time leading scorer in the school’s history. Quigley tied former teammate Destiny Adams’s 2,010 point mark in a win against No. 16 Jackson Memorial. Quigley followed that by scoring 58 points in a win against No. 11 Ranney at the Coaches vs Cancer Showcase. Manchester hosts Pinelands on Tuesday and Toms River North on Thursday. Saturday the Hawks play Clearview in the South Jersey vs Shore Showcase at Rancocas Valley.

12. Ranney (5-6) Previous Rank: 11 - Ranney went 1-3 last week, losing all three games to Shore 16 teams. They dropped two close games to No. 7 Wall and No. 6 Trinity Hall to open the week. Saturday they fell to No. 13 Manchester, being outscored 21-10 in the 4th quarter. Ranney’s week does not get any easier, hosting No. 8 St. Rose on Tuesday and No. 3 SJV on Thursday. Saturday they travel to Southern Regional. 

13. Holmdel (6-5) Previous Rank: 12 - Holmdel was able to end their three game losing streak on Saturday to Notre Dame at the Coaches vs Cancer Showcase. Holmdel opened the week losing to No. 1 SJV and No. 5 St. Rose before defeating Notre Dame. Senior Allison Cannon and junior Mackenzie Teevan continue to do it on both sides of the floor for Holmdel with their scoring and defense. Holmdel hosts No. 7 Wall on Tuesday and travels to No. 15 Point Boro on Friday.

14. Neptune (10-4) Previous Rank: 14 - Four weeks into the season and Neptune has doubled their win total from last season, defeating Long Branch and Freehold Township for their 9th and 10th wins of the season. Neptune hosts No. 3 St. John Vianney on Tuesday and Brick Memorial on Saturday. Thursday the Fliers travel to Raritan. 

15. Point Pleasant Boro (7-5) Previous Rank 15 - Point Boro rebounded from two straight loses with two straight wins last week. They defeated Freehold Boro and Raritan in non-divisional games. The Panthers travel to Long Branch on Tuesday and host No. 13 Holmdel on Friday. Saturday they play Our Lady of Mercy in the South Jersey vs Shore Showcase at Rancocas Valley. 
16. Jackson Memorial (7-3) Previous Rank: 16 - Jackson fell to No. 13 Manchester to start the week, but snapped a two game losing streak by defeating Middletown North in the Coaches vs Cancer Showcase. Sophomore Kaylee Ambros knocked down four 3-pointers off the bench to lead the Jaguars. Jackson Memorial hosts Central Regional on Tuesday and travels to Barnegat on Thursday. Saturday the Jaguars play Shawnee in the South Jersey vs Shore Showcase at Rancocas Valley.
