Opening Round

Junior Jake Pepe and senior Michael Beer each logged a goal and an assist and the Crimson Knights (12-2) rolled past the Garnet Gulls (6-5-1) and into the SCT round of 16 Saturday against No. 12 Monmouth.

Junior Thomas Perry and sophomore Jake Horowitz scored the other two Wall goals.

(16) Toms River South 3, (17) Pinelands 0

Senior Tyler Weiss scored two goals in the first half and assisted a second-half goal by sophomore Danny Lindov to lead the Indians (5-4-1) to a first-round win over the Wildcats (6-4-1).

Senior Jalen Folsom saved five shots to secure the shutout for Toms River South, which earned a rematch with No. 1 Holmdel Saturday in the round of 16. The Indians lost to the top-seeded Hornets, 1-0, on Sept. 21.

(15) Manasquan 3, (18) Toms River North 0

Senior Tyler Guagenty scored before halftime and the Warriors (6-5-1) added a pair of goals on the other side of the break to pull away with a shutout win over the Mariners (6-5-1).

Guagenty volleyed in a corner kick by junior Simon Cardenas in the 28th minute to break Manasquan onto the scoreboard. Junior Tommy Johnson headed in Manasquan's second goal in the 45th minute off another cross from Cardenas.

Senior Drew Greenblatt capped the scoring midway through the second half by knocking in a pass from senior Caeden Miller.

Manasquan will travel to play No. 2 Marlboro Friday in the SCT round of 16.

 

Class A Central

Monmouth 4, Red Bank Catholic 1

Senior Mason Martelloni posted a hat trick and the Falcons (12-2, 4-2) bounced back from an early 1-0 deficit to complete their A Central schedule with a win over the Caseys (1-10-1). Aiden Hicks took care of the other Monmouth goal.
