No. 2 CBA 2, Freehold Boro 1 (OT)

Senior Jack Gill scored the golden goal off a corner kick by Joe Lozowski in the ninth minute of overtime and the Colts (8-1, 4-0) warded off an upset bid by the Colonials (4-4, 1-3).

Chris Vollrath broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 64th minute to give CBA a 1-0 lead before Cameron Elslager answered with the equalizer off a pass from Abel Herrera with 7:30 left in regulation.

Middletown South 3, No. 8 Manalapan 2 (OT)

Junior Danny Minze knocked in a cross from classmate Zach Oberc for the golden goal 12 minutes into overtime and the Eagles (4-5, 1-3) avoided squandering a two-goal lead to pick up a big A North win over the Braves (2-3-2, 2-1-1).

Manalapan senior Mike Kuver came off the bench in the 55th minute and scored goals in 60th and 70th minute to erase a 2-0 Middletown South lead. Kuver, who is nursing an injury according to Braves coach Kerry Eisman, followed up a saved strike by Ryan Caruso for the first Manalapan goal before evening the score in the 70th.

Jonathan Santos opened the scoring with a deflected shot that found the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Mike Glynn followed with another Middletown South goal five minutes later on a feed from Chase Guinta.

No. 9 Freehold Twp. 3, Marlboro 0

Cristian Corcione, Adam Havens and Joe Marchiano each scored a goal and Zach Orrico assisted two of them to lead the Patriots (5-1-1, 3-1-0) to a win over the Mustangs (3-4-1, 1-3-0).

Howell 2, No. 6 Long Branch 1

Junior Mike Anello scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute and the Rebels (6-2, 2-2) scored a key A North road victory over the Green Wave (4-4-1, 1-2-1).

Senior Stiviny Silva evened the game at 1-1 with a 25-yard strike in the 49th minute, his 10th goal in nine games this season.

Howell grabbed the early lead on a penalty kick by senior Dylan Dougher.

 

Class A Central

No. 1 Holmdel 2, No. 10 Manasquan 1

Senior Mark McStay followed up a save by Manasquan keeper Joe Weinstein and hammered home the game-winning goal in the 74th minute as the Hornets (8-0, 4-0) survived a scare from the Warriors (5-3, 3-1).

Senior Anthony Arena returned from a four-game absence due to a hamstring injury and scored in the 15th minute to stake Holmdel to a 1-0 lead. Senior Joe Arena played a ball over the back line and his cousin ran it down before drilling a shot to the far side netting from the right corner of the six-yard box.

Manasquan pulled even in the 37th minute on a goal by junior Drew Greenblatt. Junior Frank Manno tracked down a punt by Weinstein and slid it to Greenblatt, who finished inside the near right post.

McStay drew a foul 25-yards away from the goal to set up his game-winner. Joe Arena then drilled the direct kick on frame and McStay was on the spot when Weinstein stopped it in front of the goal.

Manasquan threatened several times in the second half, including a shot on which Holmdel keeper Jack Murray made a diving save to his left.

Raritan 1, Shore 0

Zack May scored the game's lone goal and contributed to a defensive effort that helped the Rockets (3-4, 2-1) blank the Blue Devils (2-7, 0-3).

Red Bank Catholic 4, Rumson-Fair Haven 2

Diego Volpe scored two goals and assisted another as the Caseys (4-3, 1-1) topped the Bulldogs (0-7, 0-3) to climb back over .500 and pick up their first A Central win of the season.

John Duffy and Alex Nichols each added a goal for Red Bank Catholic, which jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead. Nichols also added an assist.

 

Class B North

No. 4 Ocean 1, Colts Neck 0

Leo Montesinos scored off a pass from fellow senior Santieno Harding and the Spartans (8-1, 4-0) defense and keeper Max Winters made it hold up in a shutout win over the Cougars (2-4, 2-2).

Matawan 5, St. John Vianney 3

Junior Marcelo Colonna and sophomore Andrew Wells each scored two goals and the Huskies (3-4, 1-3) rode a 4-0 first-half outburst to a win over the Lancers (3-6, 1-3). Junior Enir Radoncic accounted for the other Matawan goal.

Nico Clark scored a goal and assisted another to led St. John Vianney, which also got goals from Jack Roddy and Chris Ward.

Wall 2, No. 5 Neptune 1

Riley Powers broke a scoreless tie off a cross from sophomore Jake Pepe and returned the favor by setting up a Pepe goal in the 64th as the Crimson Knights (8-1, 4-0) beat the Scarlet Fliers (5-2-1, 2-2-0) for their eighth straight win.

Jett Tinik lofted a 40-yard shot just under the crossbar in the 78th minute to give Neptune a shot at a comeback, but Wall tightened up and closed out the win.
