Junior Zack Meyer opened the scoring with a goal in the 16th minute and junior Danny Buenano added an insurance tally in the 67th to lead the Green Dragons (1-4-1, 1-1-0) past the Golden Eagles (0-6, 0-3) for their first win of the season.
No. 2 Jackson Memorial 3, Toms River South 1
Senior Tyler Howlett, sophomore Steve Bado and senior Ed Jacoby each scored a goal and the Jaguars (8-0, 3-0) beat the Indians (2-2-1, 1-1-1) in a key A South battle under the lights for their eighth straight win to open the season.
Class B Central
Point Beach 3, Keyport 0
Sophomore Luke Zylinski broke a scoreless tie by heading in a corner kick in the second half and the Garnet Gulls (3-3, 3-1) pulled away to beat the Red Raiders (2-3, 2-1).
Junior Justin Mazzatta added a goal to make it 2-0 and senior Rob D'Agostaro buried a free kick to cap the scoring.
Ranney 2, St. Rose 1
Sophomore Thomas Boyan headed in a long service by senior Ethan Marston for the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute and the Panthers (2-3, 2-1) upended the Purple Roses (3-2-1, 1-1-0) for the second straight season.
St. Rose tied the game in the 51st when sophomore Kyle Corrigan headed in a corner kick by senior Matt DeLuca.
Ranney opened the scoring in the 37th minute on a free kick by sophomore Jett Pacifico.
Asbury Park 4, Mater Dei Prep 0
Elijah Simmons scored in the first half and the Blue Bishops (3-4, 1-2) added three more goals in the second half to pull away with a win over the Seraphs (1-2-1, 1-1-0).
Davenson JoinVilmar added a goal and two assists while Woodley Cagilus and Jesus Ayala each chipped in a goal in the second half. Chefeston Simeus also added two assists for Asbury Park.
Class B South
Lacey 2, Donovan Catholic 1
Senior Sean Moffitt scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half and the Lions (2-3-1, 1-2-0) rallied from a one-goal halftime deficit to beat the Griffins (2-3, 1-2) while snapping a four-game winless streak.
Moffitt tied the game in the 43rd off a through-ball from senior Mike Cyphers and finished off a cross from sophomore Noah Hamouda in the 49th for the winner.
Senior Nick Calvetto staked Donovan Catholic to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 33rd minute.
Pinelands 1, Point Boro 0
Junior Johnny Hart broke the ice in the 50th minute with his sixth goal of the season and the Wildcats (4-1, 3-0) and junior goalkeeper Gavin Harris blanked the Panthers (1-6-1, 1-2-0) for their fourth straight win.
