Freehold Boro 2, Manalapan 1 (OT)

Alex Mayorga scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute on a cross from Cam Elslager and the Colonials (6-7, 5-5) edged the Braves (2-5-3, 2-4-3) in an overtime thriller. Jake Brower scored the first Freehold Boro goal on a penalty kick in the first half.

Manalapan took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute on a penalty kick by Gavin Lebright.

No. 7 Howell 4, Marlboro 0

Dylan Dougher recorded a hat trick and the Rebels (7-2-1, 7-2-1) rolled over the Mustangs (0-10-2, 0-8-2) for their seventh straight win. Brandon Downey assisted one of Dougher's goals, as well as another goal by Nick Cavellero that made the score 3-0 in the 28th minute.

Shane McBride earned the shutout and also assisted one the second of Dougher's goals in the 24th minute. Mike Anello assisted the first goal by Dougher, which came in the 17th minute.

No. 2 CBA 4, Colts Neck 0

Sophomores Luke Pascarella and Connor Anderko each scored in the first half and the Colts (12-1, 9-0) cruised past the Cougars (3-8, 2-8) to continue their dominance in Class A North.

Shane Keenan and Eric Wronowski combined on CBA's ninth shutout in 10 A North games and 11th shutout overall.

Joe Lozowski and Charlie Daly each added a goal in the second half to put the game away and Vinnie Cinko assisted the goals by Anderko and Lozowski.

No. 10 Freehold Twp. 1, Neptune 0

Jon Finocchiaro scored in the 25th minute after Kevin Finn flicked him the ball and the Patriots (8-4, 7-3) made it count in a win over the Scarlet Fliers (4-5, 3-5). Evan Nastarowicz saved four shots to earn the shutout.

 

Class A Central

No. 1 Holmdel 4, Shore 1

Anthony Arena recorded a hat trick and assisted the first goal of the game by Mikey Neff to lead the Hornets (10-0, 9-0) to their 10th straight win to open the season. Neff also assisted Arena's final goal of the game.

Leo Montesinos scored to draw Shore (5-7-1, 4-4-1) within a goal at 2-1.

Matawan 3, No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 3

Griffin Heyward scored two goals and assisted another by Marcelo Colonna to help the Huskies (4-5-1, 3-5-1) earn a draw against one-loss Rumson (9-1-1, 6-1-1).

Jeremy Nives and Leo Maita each had a goal and an assist, while Cole Lee added a goal for the Bulldogs.

St. John Vianney 3, Red Bank 1

Colin Kane and Nico Clark scored second-half goals to break a 1-1 halftime deadlock and the Lancers (2-7-1, 2-6-1) pulled out a win over the Bucs (1-9, 1-7). Kieran Kane assisted the first Vianney goal by Anthony Altomonte and also set up the goal by Clark with a corner kick service.

 

Class B North

No. 8 Long Branch 2, Middletown North 0

Stiviny Silva scored both Long Branch goals and the Green Wave (9-3, 7-3) blanked the Lions (7-6, 4-6) for the second time this season. Renan Azevedo and Oscar Marmol assisted the two goals while Rodolfo Giron picked up the clean sheet with four saves.

Middletown South 3, Red Bank Catholic 2

Danny Minze, Alex Sigua and and Mike Zito each scored a goal and Jonathan Santos assisted two of them to lead the Eagles (7-4-1, 5-4-1) past the Caseys (3-9, 1-9). The win secures Middletown South a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament for the first time since 2012, when the Eagles reached the semifinals.

Monmouth 1, Wall 0

Brian Waltsak drew a red card takedown in the box in the eighth minute and converted the penalty kick to jumpstart a Falcons (8-5, 6-4) win over the Crimson Knights (6-6, 5-5). The victory finished off a season sweep over Wall and nailed down a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament for Monmouth.

Monmouth played Wednesday without the services of senior forward and 22-goal scorer Joel Burgos, who sat out for a second straight game with a bad bruise, according to coach Darren Spadevecchia.

No. 5 Ocean 2, Manasquan 0

Luke Yates assisted goals by Steve Carton and Santieno Harding and the Spartans (9-2, 9-1) shutout the Warriors (3-8-1, 2-7-1) for the second time this season to win their sixth straight game. This time, Thomas Gleason earned the clean sheet in goal after Max Winters shut out Manasquan in the first meeting between the B North opponents.
