Brick 5, Toms River East 4

John Crist scored the golden goal in the fourth minute of overtime and the Green Dragons (2-1, 1-0) outlasted the Raiders (1-2, 0-1) in a wild, back-and-forth, overtime affair in Class A South.

William DeLao scored the first and third Brick goals an Zack Meyer scored the go-ahead goal in the 73rd minute before Logan Romero headed in the equalizer for Toms River East two minutes later. Eli Chong scored the other Green Dragons goal.

Romero's tying goal was his second score of the game. Pete Kozlej, meanwhile, scored the first Toms River East goal and assisted Romero's second goal in the 75th minute. Vasco Pereira scored late in the second half off a feed from Logan Sommerer to put the Raiders on top, 3-2, heading into halftime.

Southern 1, No. 6 Toms River South 0

Sophomore Kevin Kiernan drilled a shot to the left side netting from the top of the 18-yard box in the 45th minute and the Rams (3-0, 1-0) held off the Indians (0-1, 0-1) for their third straight win to open the season.

 

Class B Central

Asbury Park 4, Keyport 3 (OT)

Freshman Davenson JoinVilmar scored the golden goal in overtime and the Blue Bishops (1-1, 1-0) edged the Red Raiders (0-2, 0-1) for their first win of the season.

Gomez Castano scored in the 79th minute to send the game to overtime while Bryan Cruz and Jodi Hernandez accounted for the first two Asbury Park goals.

Tyler Maher scored two of Keyport's goals and Kevin Hernandez tallied the other.

St. Rose at Mater Dei Prep - PPD, TBD

Class B South

Barnegat 2, Point Boro 0

Junior Matt White converted a penalty kick in the 16th minute and sophomore Ken Franke added an insurance goal with a 25-yard strike in the 30th minute to nail down a Bengals (2-1, 1-1) win over the Panthers (0-3, 0-1).

White drew the foul that led to the penalty kick and Grady Edwards slid the ball back to Franke for the assist on the second goal.

Pinelands 3, Lacey 0

Dominic Dos Santos, Anthony Diaz and John Hart each scored a goal and the Wildcats (1-2, 1-0) blanked the Lions (0-1, 0-1) to pick up their first win of the season. Aniello Lubrano and Kieran Sundermann each dished out an assist for Pinelands.
