Class A North

No. 7 Freehold Twp. 3, Long Branch 1

Sophomore Herman Colbert scored his first varsity goal off a Zach Orrico assist for the go-ahead goal just before halftime and the Patriots (6-4, 5-0) added one more in the second half to seal a win over the Green Wave (4-5-1, 3-2-0).

Orrico also opened the scoring with a header off a set piece from sophomore Josh Hocheiser before Long Branch answered with a penalty kick by senior Patrick O'Dwyer  in the 36th. O'Dwyer's goal was his ninth in the last three games.

Senior Bennett Messinger capped the scoring five minutes into the second half off a set-piece service from senior Evan Savino.

 

Class A South

No. 3 Jackson Memorial 3, Brick 0

Sophomores Evan Walenty and Steven Bado scored the first two Jackson Memorial goals and the Jaguars (10-1, 5-0) coasted to a win over the Green Dragons (2-5-1, 1-2-0) to remain unbeaten in A South play.

Zach Rogacki and Drew Walenty set up the first two goals and senior Gianluca Gruossa capped the scoring off an assist from Tyler Howlett.

Toms River East 3, Central 0

Senior Dane Bodziak and freshman Kajus Matazinskas each scored a goal and dished out an assist as the Raiders (4-3-2, 2-3-1) topped the Golden Eagles (0-9, 0-5).

Junior T.J. Scollan scored the first Toms River East goal off a feed from Matazinskas and junior Taylor Cleven assisted Bodziak's goal to cap the scoring.

No. 5 Southern 1, Toms River North 0

Junior Ryan Leavitt scored off a pass from junior Brandon Notte in the first half and the unbeaten Rams (7-0-1, 3-0-1) hung on to beat the Mariners (4-3-1, 2-2-1) - the sixth shutout for Southern and junior goalkeeper Kayce Bennet.

Brick Memorial 2, Toms River South 0

Freshman Billy Caruso headed home the game's first goal and junior Vin Nazzaro added an insurance tally off a pass from classmate Jack Fanning to help the Mustangs (3-4, 2-3) top the Indians (3-4-1, 2-2-1) for their third straight win following a 0-4 start.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 6, Henry Hudson 0

Junior Liam Stewart notched a hat trick and the Seraphs (3-3-1, 3-1-0) rolled to a win over the Admirals (1-7, 0-6). Senior A.J. Bruney added two goals, sophomore David Corbisiero added one and junior Marcone Pessoa dealt out two assists for Mater Dei.

Ranney 5, Keyport 1

Charles Anyichie and Nick Sakson each scored two goals and the Panthers (4-4, 4-1) cruised to a win over the Red Raiders (2-6, 2-3). Sophomore Thomas Boyan scored the other Ranney goal and sophomore Charlie Boyan added two assists in the win.

Senior Jared Sheridan scored the Keyport goal off a pass from junior Joe Lanzaro.

Asbury Park 2, Point Beach 1

Jean Salomon scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute and the Blue Bishops (5-5, 3-3) pulled out a win over the Garnet Gulls (5-4, 3-2).

Sophomore Davenson JoinVilmar opened the scoring for Asbury Park in the 67th before junior Owen Marcoux responded with the equalizer for Point Beach.

 

Class B South

Barnegat 5, Manchester 0

Senior Grady Edwards assisted a first-half goal by classmate Matt White and scored twice during Barnegat's four-goal second half to help lead the unbeaten Bengals (7-0-1, 4-0-1) past the Hawks (6-2, 4-1).

White headed in Edwards's free kick in the 20th minute and the two teams waited out an extended intermission due to rain.

Upon resuming, Barnegat took over, starting with the first of two goals by freshman Jesse Hedlund off a free kick by junior Kenny Franke in the 66th minute. Two minutes later, Edwards drilled a free kick and later added his second goal in the 78th. Hedlund capped the scoring in the final minute.

Point Boro 4, Jackson Liberty 0

Senior Steve Redler assisted senior Troy Schnappauf in the 10th minute for the first goal of the game and scored in the 48th to make it 3-0 as the Panthers (3-7-1, 3-2-0) blanked the Lions (0-8, 0-5).

Senior Christian D'Amato scored Point Boro's second goal in the 22nd and freshman Alex Baginski capped the scoring in the 72nd.

Pinelands 1, Donovan Catholic 0

Sophomore James Cahill scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute and the Wildcats (5-1-1, 4-0-1) escaped with a win over the Griffins (2-6, 1-3) to keep pace with Barnegat in the Class B South race.
