No. 1 CBA 3, Middletown South 1

Junior Luke Pascarella broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 50th minute and the Colts pulled out a win over the Eagles.

After Senior Dom Bellomo set up Pascarella for the go-ahead goal, junior Noah Santifort scored off a rebound in the 69th minute to cap the scoring.

Senior Charlie Daly gave CBA a 1-0 first-half lead off a pass from classmate Jack Hempstead.

Sean Liner scored the equalizer for Middletown South in the 41st minute off a pass from Jonathan Santos.

Long Branch 2, Manalapan 2

John O'Beirne headed in a cross from Gavin Lebright in the 79th minute and the Braves salvaged a draw against the visiting Green Wave to remain unbeaten since starting the season 0-2.

Patrick O'Dwyer assisted a goal by Herbert Ruiz and later scored to give Long Branch a 2-1 lead in the 65th minute.

Ryan Caruso opened the scoring in the third minute by emerging out of a scrum with a poke into the goal.

Marlboro 2, No. 5 Howell 0

Brandon Grine and Mitch Katsman each scored a goal and the Mustangs knocked off the Rebels for their first divisional win since their 20-win 2016 season.

 

Class A Central

No. 1 Holmdel 2, Rumson-Fair Haven 0

Senior Joe Arena scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to help the Hornets sneak past the Bulldogs with their fifth straight shutout to open the season.

No. 9 Manasquan 1, Shore 0 (OT)

Tommy Johnson slipped the winning goal past Shore keeper Chris Panduri in the first minute of overtime and the Warriors edged the Blue Devils for their fourth straight win.

Matt Drake headed a punt by Manasquan keeper Joe Weinstein and Johnson ran onto it before sliding in the winner.

Panduri kept Shore in the game for the first 80 minutes, including a swarm of key saves in the final minutes.

Raritan 1, No. 10 Monmouth 0

Anthony Sparacino scored off a Marco Vasto feed in the first half and the Rockets blanked the Falcons for their first win of the season.

Monmouth senior Brian Waltsak left the game in the fifth minute due to an ankle injury and did not return, according to Falcons coach Darren Spadevecchia. Waltsak was an all-division selection as a junior after scoring 12 goals and 13 assists in 2017.

 

Class A South

Toms River North 3, Brick Memorial 1

No. 3 Jackson Memorial 3, Toms River South 0

Senior Joe Schlageter scored the first two goals of the game and junior Ben Schnaak added an extra insurance tally as the Jaguars rolled over the Indians to extend their perfect start to the season.

 

Class B North

Wall 5, Middletown North 0

Senior Riley Powers assisted goals by senior Joe Volpe and junior Ryan Garibay to open the scoring and senior Sean Campbell capped it with two goals during the 70th minute as the Crimson Knights handled the Lions.

Sophomore Jake Pepe scored in the 66th minute off a feed from Jack Gotsch to extend Wall's lead to 3-0 before Campbell scored two goals in 40 seconds to seal the win.

No. 4 Ocean 2, No. 6 Neptune 1

Santieno Harding scored the equalizer in the 49th minute and assisted the winner by Robert Lopes in the 68th as the Spartans handed the Scarlet Fliers their first loss of the season.

Senior Wilby Alfred gave Neptune a 1-0 lead with with seventh goal of the season in the 45th minute. Harding answered with his eighth goal a little less than four full minutes later.

Red Bank 2, Matawan 1

Junior Erik Christie scored two goals and the Bucs jumped out to a 2-0 lead and held on to beat the Huskies.

Junior Marcelo Colonna scored in the 68th minute to cut the Matawan deficit in half but Red Bank clamped down over the final 12 minutes.

 

Class B Central

Ranney 2, St. Rose 0

Senior Ademola Odunlami and freshman Charlie McCann each scored a goal and the Panthers knocked off the Purple Roses.

 

Class B South

Jackson Liberty 2, Manchester 1

Josh Montoute and Tim Cappucci each found the back of the net to help the Lions edge the Hawks.

 

Non-Division

Red Bank Catholic 6, Henry Hudson 0

Alex Nichols recorded a hat trick and the Caseys coasted to a win over the Admirals. John Duffy added a goal and to assists while Terrance Carroll and Anthony Dell'Anno scored a goal apiece.
