No. 7 Freehold Twp. 2, Howell 1

Senior Bennett Messinger drilled a free kick to tie the game in the 34th and sophomore J.T. Gold chipped a shot over Howell goalkeeper Brian Paige in the 38th to send the Patriots (2-2, 1-0) to a win over the rival Rebels (1-4, 0-2).

Justin Corbett drilled a shot from outside the 18-yard box to give Howell a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute.

 

Class A South

Toms River South 5, Toms River East 4 (OT)

Senior Preston Geerinck scored the golden goal in the 98th minute and the Indians (1-1-1, 1-0-1) pulled out an overtime win over the Raiders (3-1, 1-1) in a wild, back-and-forth affair.

Geerinck's game-winner was his second of the game - one of two Toms River South players with two goals on Thursday. Senior Shane Kluxen also scored twice, including in the 77th minute to briefly give the Indians a 4-3 lead.

Senior Dane Bodziak recorded a hat trick for Toms River East and scored with 40 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 4-4. Bodziak also assisted a goal by junior Taylor Cleven.

Senior Tyler Weiss also scored for Toms River South and senior Angel Sanchez assisted two Indians goals.

No. 4 Jackson Memorial 4, Central 1

Senior Tyler Howlett and junior Evan Walenty each scored their second goals in as many days and the Jaguars (6-0, 2-0) struck three times in the second half to pull past the Golden Eagles (0-3, 0-1) for their sixth straight win to open the year.

Senior Ed Jacoby and Gianluca Gruosso each added a goal in the win.

No. 6 Southern 1, Brick Memorial 0

Sophomore Luke Hart scored in the 64th minute off a pass from junior Nico Leonard and the Rams (2-0-1, 1-0-1) held on to top the Mustangs (0-3, 0-2) to remain unbeaten.

Class B Central

Point Beach 1, Ranney 0

Junior Owen Marcoux scored off a pass from sophomore Luke Zynlinski in the 53rd minute and the Garnet Gulls (2-1, 2-0) picked up a key B Central road win over the Panthers (0-2, 0-1).

Keyport 5, Henry Hudson 2

Sophomore George Mitchell scored two goals and senior Adrian Sabatino added a goal and two assists as the Red Raiders (2-1, 2-0) topped the Admirals (1-2, 0-2). Juniors Kevin Hernandez and Nabil El Maalem each added a goal for Keyport.

St. Rose 3, Asbury Park 1

Junior Morgan Fahy assisted a goal by sophomore Luke Hammil top open the scoring in the first half and added one of his own in the second as the Purple Roses (2-1, 1-0) ripped off three unanswered goals en route to a win over the Blue Bishops (1-3, 0-2).

Junior Matt Kirkpatrick extended St. Rose's lead to 2-0 in the 32nd before sophomore Kyle Corrigan found Fahy for St. Rose's third goal.

 

Class B South

Point Boro 3, Lakewood 0

Freshman Alex Baginsky scored off a pass from senior Will Flaherty in the 10th minute to give Point Boro (1-4, 1-1) its first lead of the season and the Panthers added two more to beat the Piners (0-4, 0-3) for their first win of 2019.

Freshman Brett Leschinski scored in the 55th off a feed from senior Steve Redler and senior Mariano Maradiegue capped the scoring in the 70th off a set-up by senior Troy Schnappauf.

Manchester 2, Donovan Catholic 1

Sophomore Logan Duffy scored a goal and assisted the game-winner by classmate Vincent Paolillo as the Hawks (3-1, 2-0) picked up a win over the Griffins (2-2, 1-1).

Barnegat 4, Lacey 2

Senior Matt White scored two goals in the second half and the Bengals (4-0, 3-0) rallied to beat the Lions (1-2, 0-2) and jump back into first place in the Class B South standings.

Senior Grady Edwards scored on a penalty kick in the second half and also assisted a goal, while freshman Jesse Hedlund scored in the first half to keep Barnegat within striking distance at half, 2-1.

Senior Sean Moffitt scored off a pass from sophomore Noah Hamouda and senior Mike Cyphers finished a pass from sophomore Kody Besser to stake Lacey to a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes.
