No. 5 CBA 2, Manalapan 0

Junior Shane Borenius scored twice in the second half, including the game-winner in the first minute of half No. 2 to lead the Colts (6-3-1, 3-2-1) to a win over the Braves (2-6-1, 1-4-1).

Junior Ryan Mojares assisted the first goal by Borenius and senior Dan Calvosa set up the second in the 58th.

No. 2 Marlboro 5, No. 7 Freehold Boro 2

Senior Mitchell Katsman scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 65th to help the Mustangs (10-1, 5-1) beat the Colonials (7-6, 2-5) in a back-and-forth game.

Katsman opened the scoring with the lone first half goal and assisted one by sophomore Max Rosen to extend the Marlboro lead to 2-0 early in the second.

Freehold, however, rumbled back, starting with a penalty kick by junior Mike Romero-Vargas in the 51st minute. The Colonials pulled even on a finish by senior Chris Cruz-Ramirez in the 58th.

Katsman struck back in the 65th off a feed from classmate Mike Steinberg. Senior Max Shushkovksy sealed the win with goals in the 74th and 79th.

No. 10 Middletown South 2, Howell 1

Senior Tyler Jerome scored two second-half goals off assists from senior Danny Minze and the Eagles (6-3-3, 2-2-2) edged the Rebels (3-9, 0-6) behind a strong final 40 minutes.

Chris Osario checked in with a goal for Howell in the 79th minute to break up the shutout

 

Class A Central

Manasquan 3, Monmouth 2 (OT)

Senior Drew Greenblatt headed in a flick from junior Tommy Johnson with two minute remaining in the second overtime period and the Warriors (5-5-1, 4-2-0) won a must-win game against the Falcons (10-2, 3-2) to clinch a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Johnson connected with Greenblatt to open the scoring in the first minute before finding him for a second time with the game on the line.

Monmouth senior Mason Martelloni scored two goals in the first half - one on a direct kick and another on a deflected 25-yard strike in the last minute of the half - to catapult Monmouth into the lead.

Manasquan equalized in the 59th, with senior Tyler Guagenty burying a left-footed shot from the top of the 18-yard box.

Rumson-Fair Haven 2, Shore 0

Junior Terence Wrench scored off a pass from freshman Alec Pentikis and senior Andrew Singleton added an insurance goal off a Sean Allingham assist as the Bulldogs (5-5, 3-2) blanked the Blue Devils (2-8-2, 0-5-1) to clinch a Shore Conference Tournament berth.

 

Class A South

Brick 4, Brick Memorial 1

Four different Brick players scored a goal and the Green Dragons (3-6-1, 2-3-0) denied the rival Mustangs (3-5-1, 2-4-0) a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Senior James Bazydlo opened the scoring and junior Emanuel VI made it 2-0 before halftime.

Brick Memorial cut its deficit to 2-1 in the 3rd minute when Austin Warner headed in a free kick by Joe Liberatore but Brick came back in the 68th with a goal by junior Danny Buenano to back up by two goals.

Junior Zach Meyer capped the scoring with a goal in the 74th.

 

Class B North

Matawan 2, Middletown North 1

Junior Justin Skeete and senior Tommy Zalepka each scored a goal and the Huskies (6-4-1, 4-2-0) held on to top the Lions (7-6, 3-3). Senior Pete Angelucci converted a penalty kick to get Middletown North on the board in the 78th minute.

Toms River North 3, Jackson Liberty 0

Senior Parker Nicholsen and sophomore Bryant Garcia each scored in the first half and the Mariners (5-4-1) blanked the Lions (0-11) to nail down a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament. Junior Ali Baish assisted Garcia's goal in the 17th and sophomore Ryan Maguire set up Garcia's in the 34th.

Sophomore Jalen Ridgeway converted a penalty kick in the 65th minute to cap the scoring.

Keyport 6, Henry Hudson 0

Adrian Sabatino recorded a hat trick and Kevin Hernandez added two goals to lead the Red Raiders (3-6) to a win over the Admirals (1-9).

Barnegat 3, Central 2 (OT)

Junior Ken Franke scored the equalizer in the final seconds of regulation and senior Matt White capped the comeback with the golden goal as the Bengals (8-1-1) rallied for a road win over the Golden Eagles (1-11).

White also assisted first-half goal by junior Tyler Quinn.

Sophomore Gianni Smith assisted goals by Mike Azzerone and Dan Kejdas in the 45th and 55th minutes to give Central a 2-1 lead.

 

Non-Conference

No. 4 Freehold Twp. 4, Franklin 1

Senior Bennett Messinger scored a pair of goals and the Patriots (8-4) scored four unanswered goals after falling into an early 1-0 hole in a win over the Warriors (2-9-1).

Messinger headed in the winning goal off a late-first-half free kick by junior Josh Leonetti, who scored the first goal on a deep free kick that tied the game.

Junior Zach Orrico scored the third Freehold Township goal and assisted Messinger's capper.
