North Jersey Section 2 Group III

(1) Hopewell Valley 2, (6) Middletown North 1

Ryan Harmon's direct kick midway through the first half to tie the game at 1, but the Bulldogs jumped on top early in the second half and held on to end the run for Middletown North.

 

Central Jersey Group IV

(1) Hunterdon Central 0, (3) Marlboro 0 (Hunterdon Cent. advances in shootout, 7-6)

Dan Mecadon saved a shot by Steven Karp on Marlboro's seventh kick and Aidan Cook ended the game by making the ensuing Hunterdon Central kick to give the Red Devils the sectional title and end the Mustangs' playoff run.

Marlboro and Hunterdon Central each made their first six shots in the shootout round. Marlboro goalkeeper James Weinberg got his hand on Hunterdon Central's sixth shot and saved three shots in the final four minutes of the second overtime period.

 

Central Jersey Group III

(2) Toms River South 2, (8) Allentown 0

Dylan Parks scored two second-half goals within two minutes of one another and the Indians blanked the Redbirds to capture their second consecutive sectional title. Toms River South will play South Jersey Group III champion Mainland in Tuesday's group semifinals at Toms River North.

Since allowing a goal to Long Branch in the opening round, Toms River South and goalkeeper Dom Pizzi have not allowed a goal over the last 280 tournament minutes.

 

Central Jersey Group II

(2) Bernards 1, (13) Rumson-Fair Haven 0

Dan Paez scored seven minutes into the second half and the Mountaineers held off the Bulldogs to win the Central Jersey Group II final, ending Rumson's Cinderella run.

 

Central Jersey Group I

(1) Asbury Park 1, (3) Palmyra 0

Fenelson Etienne poked in a close-range shot in the sixth minute and the Blue Bishops edged the Panthers to win their first sectional championship since 1981.

Davensky JoinVilmar headed down a corner kick by Stevenson Jean Baptiste and Etienne got his foot to the ball first 5:05 into the match. Just minutes earlier, Asbury Park lost goalkeeper Joey Johnson and defender Shown Narcisse when the two teammates collided with one another. Neither returned to the game and both are expected to be ready by Tuesday's group semifinal against Haddon Township.

Senior midfielder Widmaier Beaubrun shifted from the field to the goal and helped Asbury Park win by saving six shots with Johnson ailing.

 

South Jersey Non-Public A

(1) CBA 5, (2) St. Augustine 0

Patrick Kollman scored two goals, Tom Judge added a goal and two assists and Matt Mawson chipped in a goal and an assist as the Colts rolled through the Hermits to win their second straight sectional title and advance to another Non-Public A final.

Judge assisted the first two CBA goals of the game by Mawson and Kollman. Matt Thorsheim made it 3-0 off a feed from Ryan O'Connor and Kollman finished off a pass from Mawson to make the score 4-0 midway through the second half.

Judge capped the scoring with a penalty kick.
