Class A North

No. 3 Freehold Twp. 3, Middletown South 2

Senior Bennett Messinger scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute and the Patriots (14-5-1) clinched the outright Class A North championship for the first time since 2008 by beating the Eagles (9-5-3).

It was the second championship Freehold Township won in dramatic fashion this week and it came less than 48 hours after the Patriots won the Shore Conference Tournament championship by defeating Manasquan on penalty kicks.

The goal was Messinger's second of the game, the first of which gave Freehold Township a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute off a pass from junior Adam Havens. Senior Chris Finn opened the scoring late in the first half with a header off a cross from junior Zach Orrico, who also assisted Messinger's winner.

Senior Danny Minze scored Middletown South's first equalizer and senior Alex Sigua later tied it again in the 64th, with senior Matt Cozzi assisting both goals.

Mater Dei Prep 2, Lakewood 1

Dylan Morales finished off a cross from Marco Pessoa and Liam Stewart scored off a feed from Christian Szotak to pace the Seraphs (5-11-1) to a win over the Piners (3-12-2). David Olivares scored the lone goal for Lakewood.

No. 5 Manasquan 5, St. Rose 3

Seniors Tyler Sperduto and Drew Greenblatt each scored two goals and the Warriors (9-5-4) beat the Purples Roses (7-7-3) on Senior Day. Freshman Matt Karolak added a penalty kick in the win.

Non-Division

Monmouth 4, Brick Memorial 1

Aiden Hicks assisted two goals by Prabnoor Singh and capped the scoring with one of his own as the Falcons (15-4) beat the Mustangs (5-9-2). Mason Martelloni also dished out two assists, setting up Hicks and Kaan Pehlivan.

No. 2 CBA 3, No. 7 Wall 1

Senior Luke Pascarella scored a goal and assisted another to spark the Colts (11-3-3) to a win over the Crimson Knights (13-4) in a match-up between ranked teams preparing for the NJSIAA Tournament.

Seniors Mike Casper and Brendan Dettling each added a goal for CBA.

Manalapan 1, Matawan 0

Jon Moreira headed in a cross from James Besser in the 20th minute to give the Braves (6-7-1) the winning goal in a victory over the Huskies (9-6-1).

Toms River East 1, Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Senior Dane Bodziak and junior Joe Stypa traded second-half goals and the Raiders (6-5-5) and Bulldogs (8-6-2) settled for a draw.

St. Rose at Shore, 4 p.m.

Toms River North 3, Pinelands 2

Senior Logan Mack netted a hat trick, including the game-winner with 27 seconds left to give the Mariners (8-7-1) a win over the Wildcats (8-5-1).

Donovan Catholic 7, Red Bank Catholic 2

Sophomore Preston Kyriakoulis exploded for four goals and the Griffins (5-9-2) coasted to a win over the Caseys (1-14-2). Vin Mendes assisted three of the Donovan Catholic goals while Nick Calvetto, John Triolo and Raul Soriano accounted for the other three Griffins goals.

Colts Neck 4, Carteret 1

Senior Jon Farfan converted a first-half penalty kick and senior Ely Ferro led a second-half surge with a goal and an assist as the Cougars (11-4-1) pulled away from the Ramblers on Senior Day. Sophomore David Tuschmann scored the go-ahead goal in the 51st minute and a junior Derek Haaf added a goal in the 63rd as part of a 3-0 second half for Colts Neck.

No. 9 Southern 3, Oakcrest 2

Junior Kevin Kiernan posted a hat trick and the Rams (12-2-2) picked up a win over the Falcons (15-3-1) - the No. 2 seed in the South Jersey Group II section.

Keyport 3, Edison Academy 2

Senior Adrian Sabatino recorded a hat trick to carry the Red Raiders (8-9) to a win over Edison Academy.

Class B North

Neptune 3, Red Bank 0

Seniors Ryan Gannon and Kyle Schembri each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Scarlet Fliers (11-6-1, 3-4-0) past the Bucs (6-9-1, 0-6-1). Senior Louis Pennington scored the other Neptune goal.

New Egypt 7, Barnegat 0

No. 1 Holmdel 3, No. 6 Marlboro 1

Senior Mark Walier recorded his first career hat trick and the Hornets (15-0-1) scored three unanswered goals to upend the Mustangs (12-4) in a showdown between the top two seeds from the Shore Conference Tournament.

Senior Mike Steinberg scored in the 10th minute to stake Marlboro to a 1-0 lead.

No. 10 Long Branch 1, No. 4 Jackson Memorial 1

Senior Eryck Lazo scored the tying goal in the second half off a pass from junior Jason Laviola to help the Green Wave (8-7-2) earn a road draw against the Jaguars (13-2-2).

Senior Gianluca Gruosso gave Jackson Memorial the 1-0 lead in the first half off a feed from sophomore Evan Walenty.

Keyport 3, Mater Dei Prep 1

Breandian Greene, Nabil El Maalem and Tyler Maher each scored a goal to help the Red Raiders (7-9) top the Seraphs (4-11-1). Robert O'Keefe notched a goal for Mater Dei.

Freehold Boro 3, Point Beach 1

Isaac Ball, Chris Cruz-Martinez and Mike Romero-Vargas each scored a goal and the Colonials (8-8-1) beat the Garnet Gulls (8-6-1) to climb back to .500.

Toms River South 1, Ocean 0

Raritan 3, Donovan Catholic 0

Joe Seber scored two goals and the Rockets (7-8-1) rolled through the Griffins (4-9-2). Freshman Mike Pereira scored his first goal for the other Raritan score.

Manchester 5, Henry Hudson 0

Senior David Szczech and sophomore Logan Duffy scored two goals apiece and the Hawks (10-9) handled the Admirals (2-13) on Senior Night. Senior Dominik Tracz also scored a goal and senior goalkeeper Rich Mariotti picked one up as well to celebrate Senior Night.
