Seun Majekodunmi scored on a service by Brandon Grine on a free kick to tie the game and the Mustangs )0-1-1, 0-0-1) battled the Braves (0-0-1, 0-0-1) to a draw.

 

Class A South

Toms River East 2, Central 1 (OT)

Sophomore Vasco Pereira scored the golden goal six minutes into overtime on a pass from senior Santino Celebre and the Raiders (1-0, 1-0) pulled out an overtime win against the Golden Eagles (0-1, 0-1). Celebre also scored the equalizer in the 50th minute on a feed from junior Logan Romero.

Central grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute on a goal by senior Mike Cambra, who took a pass from junior Eric Szejnrok before finishing. The Golden Eagle played a man down for the majority of the second half and the six minutes of overtime and stayed in the game thanks to senior goalkeeper Tom Ruscitti, who saved 25 shots.

 

Class B North

Wall 2, Middletown South 1 (OT)

Junior John Volpe scored the golden goal with 34 seconds left in the first overtime period on a pass from sophomore Tagg Ancrum and the Crimson Knights (1-0, 1-0) topped the Eagles (1-1, 0-1) to win their season opener in overtime.

Senior Robbie Stoddart staked Wall to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the fourth minute before Middletown South sophomore Danny Minze equalized in the 39th.

 

Class B Central

St. Rose 5, Point Beach 3

Senior Ethan Bodine scored a hat trick and assisted St. Rose's two other goals in his first varsity game and the Purple Roses (1-0, 1-0) opened their season with a win over the Garnet Gulls (0-1, 0-1).

Senior Dave Calloway and junior Jonathan Caputo each added a goal for St. Rose, with Caputo also assisting one of Bodine's goals.

Junior Ki Costa, junior Francisco Crivelli and senior Danny Savage each scored a goal for Point Beach.

 

Non-Division

Barnegat 8, Keyport 0

Ricky Norman and Ryan Flaherty each recorded a hat trick and the Bengals (1-1) blanked the Red Raiders (0-3) for their first win of the season. Norman also added an assist while Matt White and John Hansen each added a goal.

 

Non-Conference

Henry Hudson 2, Calvary Christian 1

Juniors Odhran King and Lucas Mendis each scored a goal and the Admirals (1-1) picked up their first win of the season.

Lakewood 6, Calvary Academy 0

Sophomore Kristian Talas scored two goals in the first seven minutes and the Piners coasted to their second win of the season. Jersey Salazar, Brian Morales, Nate Wharlton and Fausto Huerta each added a goal for Lakewood, while junior Moises Galvan earned the shutout in goal with two saves.
