Senior Lucas Hope scored off a pass over the defense from junior Luke Hamill in the 23rd minute and the Purple Roses (9-2, 8-0) completed a sweep of the Blue Bishops (7-4, 7-4) with a second one-goal victory this week.

Class B South

Pinelands 4, Lakewood 1

Four different Pinelands players scored a goal and senior Johnny Hart assisted three of them to guide the Wildcats (11-1-1, 11-1-1) to a win over the Piners (2-4-3, 2-4-3), clinching Pinelands a share of first place in the Class B South standings for the fourth straight season.

Stephen Dimileo, Nate Szwed, James Cahill and Connor Courtney took care of the scoring duties while Hart played distributor. Adam Grelak also added an assist in the win.

Jorge Diaz scored the goal for Lakewood, which played Pinelands even, 1-1, during the first half.

Since a postponed game vs. Point Boro will not be able to be made up, Pinelands will not be able to finish completely ahead of Lacey (11-2-1) for first place, but a first-place tie would be the worst-case outcome. The Shore Conference is not recognizing official division champions in 2020.
