Class A South

Brick Memorial 3, Jackson Memorial 3

Sophomore Billy Caruso scored two goals for Brick Memorial as the Mustangs (1-2-2, 1-2-2) picked up a draw against the three-time defending Class A South champion Jaguars (0-4-1, 0-4-1). Zander Pitts added a goal and senior Jack Fanning dished out two assists.

Junior Steve Bado scored two goals and senior Tyler Klinsky tallied the other for Jackson Memorial.

Brick 6, Central 2

Senior Eli Chong scored to goals to lead the Green Dragons (3-2, 3-2) to a convincing win over the Golden Eagles (0-4-1, 0-4-1). Zack Meyer, Sean Palmer, Jayson Nardone and Nick Rincon each added a goal for Brick.

Freshman Matt Golizio and Will Smith scored the two Central goals.

No. 3 Toms River North 3, Toms River South 0

Senior Parker Nickelsen and sophomore Matt Bozicev scored first-half goals off assists from junior Mattia Assante and the Mariners (5-0, 5-0) blanked the Indians (3-2, 3-2) for their fifth straight win to open the season.

Nickelsen chipped a shot into the goal off a through-ball from Assante in the 21st minute and Bozicev made it 2-0 with 1:06 left in the half by heading in Assante's corner kick.

Senior Ali Baish capped the scoring with a goal in the 62nd off a long pass over the defense by senior Danny Moreno.

Toms River East at No. 2 Southern - PPD, Friday, 4 p.m.

 

Class B Central

St. Rose 2, Point Beach 0

Junior Kyle Corrigan scored off a feed from classmate Luke Hammil and Sean Lattimer added an insurance goal before halftime as the Purple Roses (3-1, 3-0) picked up a key Class B Central win over the Garnet Gulls (4-1, 4-1).

Asbury Park 5, Henry Hudson 4

John Wesley Laravin ended a 50-minute scoring drought for Asbury Park and set off a five-goal second half that carried the Blue Bishops (2-0, 2-0) to a win over the Admirals (0-5, 0-5).

Jaquan Lunsford assisted Laravin's goal and later scored in the 61st minute to make it 3-1 in favor of Asbury Park. Chefeston Simeus contributed a goal and two assists while Jean Roody Salomon and Davenson JoinVilmar each chipped in a goal and an assist in the win.

 

Class B South

Lacey 3, Donovan Catholic 1

Senior Noah Hamouda scored two goals in the first half and assisted one by classmate George-Kyle Hernandez in the 63rd minute to lead the Lions (4-0-1, 4-0-1) past the Griffins (1-3-1, 1-3-1) for their fourth straight win.

Hamouda slammed in a cross from sophomore Ethan Riley in the 18th minute and then made it 2-0 in the 35th off a pass from senior D.J. Edinger.

Senior Vin Mendes scored in the 43rd minute off a pass from junior Preston Kyriakoulis to momentarily pull Donovan Catholic within 2-1.

Lakewood 2, Point Boro 1 (OT)

Roberto Pelaez scored twice off assists by Carlos Mater, including the golden goal in the fourth minute of overtime to lift the Piners (1-2-2, 1-2-2) to a win over the Panthers (0-3-2, 0-3-2).

Charles Latendorf scored off a pass from Logan Hanrahan to tie the game in the 68th minute for Point Boro.

Pinelands 4, Jackson Liberty 0

Senior Johnny Hart scored the first of three Pinelands goals in the final minute minutes of the first half and added a second goal in the second half to lead the Wildcats (4-0-1, 4-0-1) past the previously-unbeaten Lions (4-1, 4-1).

Pinelands's second goal came on an own goal and junior Stephen Dimileo finished in the final minute of the first half off a pass from freshman Josiah Hart.

 

Non-Conference

No. 9 Ocean 4, Bound Brook 2

Junior Michael Reid recorded a hat trick and the Spartans (5-0) picked up a road win over the Crusaders (3-2) for their fifth straight win to open the season. Junior Aidan Tisony scored the other Ocean goal.
