Anthony Tancredi, Mater Dei Prep
Mater Dei went 1-2 last week, but Tancredi did his part in all three games. The 6-foot-6 senior posted 22 points and eight rebounds in a win over Keansburg, then followed that up with 16 points, 10 boards and three blocks in a divisional loss at Keyport.
Tancredi closed out the week with an MVP performance in a 67-55 loss to No. 3 CBA in which he scored 28 points to go with 11 rebounds and three blocks in the Jimmy V Showcase at Central.
Tancredi won this week's contest with just a shade under 50 percent of the vote, giving him a big win over runner-up Zac Searight of Middletown North (12 percent). As the sixth Player of the Week in 2021-22, Tancredi will receive a $25 gift card to the Turning Point and a long-sleeve t-shirt courtesy of Seaview Orthopaedics.
