Senior Joe Lardaro scored 15 points and classmate Jayce Schapiro added 11 as the Patriots (6-3) held off the Colonials (8-7) to win the Kuhnert Classic and close their 2021 season with a win.
Freehold Boro junior Tyler Ochojski scored 15 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and led a 9-0 run that tied the game at 30-30 late in the third quarter. Freehold Township responded with a 9-0 run of its own early in the fourth to go up 42-32 and remained in control the rest of the way.
Senior Mike Sikaras led Freehold Boro with 17 points.
Red Bank Catholic 44, Red Bank 42
Freshman Gio Panzini hit the go-ahead three-pointer and came up with a steal on Red Bank's final legitimate possession and the Caseys (12-1) rallied from a five-point deficit over the final 2:20 to avoid the upset against the Bucs (4-9).
Panzini scored the last seven RBC points and scored all of his nine for the game in the fourth quarter. Junior Kevin Bauman led the Caseys with 14 and junior C.J. Ruoff pitched in 12 for RBC.
Red Bank surged in front with an 11-0 run during the middle of the fourth quarter, with Seniors Matt Keegan and Bodhi Martin and junior Patrick Murray all contributing to the 11 points in the fourth quarter. Murray finished with 10 points, Martin closed out with nine points on three three-pointers and senior Enoch Hutchinson scored 10 of his team-high 12 in the third quarter for Red Bank.
Keansburg 61, Henry Hudson 35
Senior Davon Jackson scored 23 points and the Titans (4-10) closed out their season with a win over the Admirals (1-6).
Senior Brendan Flanzbaum added 11 points and sophomore Mike Alonso chipped in 10 for Keansburg.
Junior Dimitrius Harvey led Henry Hudson with 19 points and senior Trevor Hendrickson capped his career with 13.
Non-Division
Jackson Memorial 58, Monmouth 44
Senior Sean Slusak scored nine of his game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter and the Jaguars (4-7) rode four players in double-figure scoring to a season-ending win over the Falcons (5-9).
Sophomore Samir Padilla added 11 points and junior Steve Bado and sophomore Keith Adame each chipped in 10 for Jackson Memorial.
Dan Waddleton led Monmouth with 13 points and senior Kiran Desai threw in 12 in the loss.
Non-Conference
Middletown South 64, Edison 61
Junior James Mayerhofer scored 20 points on five three-pointers and the Eagles (4-6) closed out their season with a second win over an out-of-area Group IV opponent in as many days.
Senior Tom Brown added 15 points and senior Joe Stanzione poured in 13 for Middletown South.
