Class A North

No. 7 Marlboro 58, Manalapan 30

Senior P.J. Ringel led a well-rounded offensive attack with 13 points and the Mustangs (12-4, 9-2) rolled to a win over the Braves (2-14, 0-11). Ringel also had four assists and five steals, while senior Dan Weiss added 12 points. Eight more players scored at least two points and none of them scored more than six.

Junior Matan Zucker led Manalapan with 11 points.

No. 3 Freehold Twp. 73, Colts Neck 51

Senior Ryan Zyskowski scored 18 points to lead five Freehold Township players with at least nine points as the Patriots (17-1, 10-1) pulled away for a win over the Cougars (9-7, 6-5).

Senior Steve Staklinski scored 15 of his 16 points in the first half and added four assists. Senior Ryan Cardone and junior Ja'zeem Foster each added 11 points, with Cardone also grabbing 10 rebounds and Foster handing out five assists. Senior Bobby Weise pitched in nine points, four rebounds and four steals.

Junior Dan Gaines led Colts Neck with 14 points and junior Rob Hill added 11 in the loss.

 

Class A Central

Raritan 65, Matawan 55

Junior Zack Mojica scored a team-high 21 points and the Rockets (6-11, 3-7) pulled away to knock off the Huskies (9-8, 5-5) in overtime. Sophomore Rob Lavilla added 17 points for Raritan.

Junior Reggie Tawiah led Matawan with a game-high 25 points and also added seven rebounds. Junior Mike Dunne also pitched in 13 points and 10 boards in the loss.

St. John Vianney 74, Shore 56

Junior Zach Moran scored 19 points to go with eight rebounds and five assists and the Lancers (6-10, 4-6) coasted to a win over the Blue Devils (4-12, 2-6). Junior Chris Mikos added 15 points and nine rebounds, senior Ryan Simmonds scored 13 points and senior Rocco Giorlando connected on four three-pointers to finish with 12 points.

Senior Ryan Jones led Shore with a game-high 23 points.

No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven 60, Red Bank 58

Junior Teddy Sourlis scored 24 points and junior Elijah McAllister converted the game-winning three-point play in the final seconds as the Bulldogs (15-1, 9-0) held off a fourth-quarter surge by the Bucs (6-9, 4-5) to remain unbeaten against Shore Conference competition.

Red Bank pulled ahead 50-49 on a Liam Joyce floater midway through the fourth and junior Devin Cooper put the Bucs ahead again, 58-57, on a pair of free throws with just under a minute left. McAllister scored on a tip-in and hit the free throw to put Rumson on top, 60-58, and blocked a potential game-winning three-point attempt by senior Nasir Williams.

Junior Jack Solano also poured in 19 points for Rumson.

 

Class B North

Middletown North 67, Long Branch 58

Sophomore Rob Higgins scored 17 points and dished out nine assists to lead the Lions (10-7, 7-4) to a win over the Green Wave (10-6, 7-4) on the road. Junior Dave Campbell led three more Middletown North players in double-figures with 14 points, while junior Sky Cherry added 12 and senior Marc Cerbo poured in 11. Cherry also grabbed 10 rebounds.

Junior Tyree Morris led Long Branch with 17 points.

Wall 48, Ocean 43

Junior Steve Geis scored 15 points and the Crimson Knights (8-8, 5-6) upended the Spartans (11-6, 5-6). Senior Mike Andrejco added 10 points and seniors Gene Scott and R.J. Janeczek each chipped in nine for Wall.

Junior Andrew Seager led Ocean with 15 points and senior Tim McMahon added 10 for Ocean.

Middletown South at Manasquan - Moved to Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.

 

Non-Division

Howell 49, Jackson Memorial 47

Junior Eddie Morales scored 15 points and junior Dante Lanzetta added 14 as the Rebels (5-11) edged the Jaguars (8-6). Senior Tyler Hoops also scored 10 points for Howell.

Senior Ryan Lucas led Jackson Memorial with a game-high 18 points.

St. Rose 73, Holmdel 56

 

Non-Conference

Barnegat 66, Gateway 28

Juniors Mike Revello and Carson Francisco combined for 25 of Barnegat's 30 points in the third quarter and the Bengals (12-5) used the 30-4 run to bury the Gators (1-16). Revello finished with 21 points and Francisco with 18.

Valerie Fund Classic

At Toms River North

No. 2 Mater Dei Prep 77, Lakewood 56

Junior Yasin Pretlow scored a game-high 19 points and knocked down three of Mater Dei's 10 three-pointers as the Seraphs (14-3) rolled to a win over the Piners (10-7).

Junior Kyle Cardaci added 14 points on four threes and junior Kenny Jones knocked down of pair of threes while putting up 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Senior Elijah Barnes also chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds for Mater Dei.

Senior Adi Palmer led Lakewood with 19 points. Freshman Ryan Savoy added 11 points and senior Cameron Mader scored 10 in the loss.
