No. 3 Rumson-Fair Haven 46, No. 5 CBA 43 - Full Story and Highlights

Junior Ian O'Connor scored 22 of his game-high 24 points in the second half and the Bulldogs (5-1) rallied from a 13-point third-quarter deficit to upend the Colts (3-3) in the first meeting between the two teams since Rumson's upset of CBA in the 2015 Shore Conference Tournament final. O'Connor also grabbed nine rebounds.

Senior Devin Cooper added eight points for Rumson and senior Elijah McAllister hauled in 17 rebounds to go with three blocked shots. Rumson lost senior guard Jack Solano in the first half due to a cut on his head.

CBA led, 26-13, early in the third quarter before the Bulldogs rallied with a 17-3 run to take a 30-29 early in the fourth - capped by a three-point play by O'Connor.

CBA senior Rob Mahala hit a go-ahead three to end the run and later capped an 8-0 run by hitting a three-pointer to put the Colts ahead, 42-41, with 2:40 left. Mahala finished with nine points.

Rumson tied the game on a free throw by Cooper and went up for good on a go-ahead drive by O'Connor with 1:05 left.

Junior Stephen Braunstein led CBA with 16 points but fouled out of the game with more than five minutes to play in the game.

No. 1 Ranney 59, Patrick School 43 - Full Story and Highlights

Junior Scottie Lewis scored 21 points and classmate Bryan Antoine added 20 to lead the Panthers (6-2) to a landmark win over the defending Tournament of Champions winner.

Lewis also added eight rebounds and eight assists, while Antoine scored 16 of his points in the second half.

Ranney scored only six points and turned the ball over nine times in the second quarter on Satuday, but took the game over with a 14-0 run from the middle of the third to the early part of the fourth, which turned a 36-34 deficit into a 48-36 lead.

Senior center Savior Akuwovo contributed eight points, 13 rebounds and three steals while holding 6-10 Patrick School center Valdir Manuel to two points.

Junior Al-Amir Dawes led Patrick School with a game-high 23 points.

Roman Catholic (Pa.) 59, No. 2 Mater Dei Prep 49

Junior Hakim Hart scored 10 of his game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter, when the Cahillites outscored the Seraphs 23-4 to hand Mater Dei (6-1) its first loss of the season.

Junior Alexander Rice led Mater Dei with 15 points, while senior Kyle Cardaci added 12 points and senior Yasin Pretlow threw in 10.

Ocean 37, No. 4 Neptune 29

Senior Andrew Seager scored 17 points to go with six rebounds and the Spartans (3-5) closed the game on an 11-2 run over the final 5:30 to upset the Scarlet Fliers (5-2).

Sophomore Jack Miller added 13 points for Ocean, which led, 26-17, in the third quarter before Neptune went on a 10-0 run to take a 27-26 lead with 5:39 left in the game.

Senior Jared Kimbrough led Neptune with 19 points and 18 rebounds and scored the go-ahead tip-in with 5:39 left. Ocean responded out of a timeout with 11 straight points, with Seager and Miller keying the run.

No. 9 Point Beach 54, Middletown North 51

Senior Dan Frauenheim scored 14 points, including a pair of free throws with two seconds left to ice the game and help the Garnet Gulls (5-2) hold off a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Lions (4-4).

Middletown North trailed 46-27 in the final minute of the fourth quarter but rallied to pull within 48-46 with under two minutes to play. Point Beach senior Trevor Covey scored with a baseline drive to halt the 19-2 run and put Point Beach back up by four and senior Josh Yates scored off a turnover to make it 52-46.

Covey finished with 13 points and Yates added 11 in the win.

Junior Rob Higgins pulled Middletown North withint 52-51 when he drew a foul on a three-point shot and hit all three free throws with 3.2 seconds left. Frauenheim then stepped to the line and hit a pair of shots to push the lead back to three and after a timeout, Higgins fired a shot from halfcourt that slammed off the backboard to end the game.

Higgins finished with a game-high 26 points and senior Sky Cherry added 15, including 10 in the fourth quarter.

 

Class A South

Brick Memorial 40, Southern 29

Senior Jake Sliazis scored 10 points and junior Matt Bernstein added nine to lead the Mustangs (4-3, 3-1) over the Rams (3-5, 1-2) to end a three-game skid.

 

Class B Central

Keansburg 55, Keyport 46

Seniors Paul Eckleberry and Danny Vital combined for 39 points and the Titans (3-4, 2-3) topped the rival Red Raiders (0-7, 0-4). Eckleberry scored a game-high 20 points and Vital poured in 19.

Sophomore C.J. Johnson led Keyport with 19 points.

 

Class B South

Point Boro 70, Jackson Liberty 41

Senior Connor Costigan scored 20 points and classmate John Duda put up 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to lead the Panthers (6-1, 4-0) past the Lions (5-3, 2-2).

Sophomore Sam Young contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds while senior John Chipak posted 10 points and 11 rebounds for Point Boro.

 

Non-Division

Middletown South 62, Manalapan 45

Seniors Ryan Purcell and Dave Gervase each recorded double-doubles and the Eagles (4-4) rolled to a win over the Braves (4-3). Purcell led the way with 23 points and 11 rebounds and Gervase pitched in 16 points and 10 boards. Senior Jack Anderson also added 11 points for Middletown South.

Senior Alex Purzynski led Manalapan with 11 points and senior Justin Lynch added 10 in the loss.

Holmdel 66, Freehold Twp. 61

Sophomore Doug Chan scored 21 points and the Hornets (4-3) topped the Patriots (3-4) to pick up an inter-divisional win. Senior Connor LaMountain added 15 points and senior Tim Zhou added 14 in the win.

Wall 79, Jackson Memorial 50

Senior Steve Geis erupted for a career-high 47 points and the Crimson Knights (3-3) rolled to a win over the Jaguars (2-5). Geis scored 28 of his points in the first half and finished with seven three-pointers.

Senior Andy Lenneper added 11 points for Wall, while junior Nick Kinzler led Jackson Memorial with 15 points.

Raritan 58, Monmouth 28

Junior Tim Hayes scored 19 points and the Rockets (4-4) coasted to a win over the Falcons (0-6).

No. 6 Colts Neck 67, Red Bank 26

Junior Andrew Abujawdeh scored a game-high 16 points and the Cougars (8-0) routed the Bucs (1-7) with 10 Colts Neck players scoring at least two points.

Senior Ben Bosland added nine points, five rebounds and eight assists while senior Zach Albom pitched in eight points and five rebounds for Colts Neck.

Junior Liam Joyce led Red Bank with 12 points.

St. John Vianney 46, Old Bridge 45

Senior Zach Moran hit the game-tying three-pointer with 12 seconds left and hit the game-winning free throw with one second left to give the Lancers (3-5) a win over the Knights (5-3).

Moran finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, while classmate Chris Mikos added 11 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for St. John Vianney.

Howell 66, Sanford (De.) 63

Senior Nasiem Brantley scored a game-high 22 points and the Rebels (3-3) knocked off Seaford.

Senior Eddie Morales added 13 points and six rebounds, while junior Matt Ganter and senior Brandon Wilson added eight points each. Ganter also handed out six assists.

Sophomore Jyare Davis - one of the more highly-regarded players in the Class of 2020 who already has offers from Florida, Miami and St. John's, according to Rivals - led Sanford with 18 points.
